Staying at The Ben Doran Guest House felt like stepping into a piece of Edinburgh's history. The exterior is modest, but inside, it’s a charming Georgian townhouse with over 300 years of character—original woodwork, elegant furnishings, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxing break. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, sharing fascinating stories about the building’s past. The rooms are quiet and cozy, and the breakfast was exceptional—fresh, locally sourced, and beautifully presented. What really stood out was the location: right outside the front door is a bus stop with frequent service to the city center, making exploring easy and stress-free. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s an experience. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Staying at Allison House 16 in Edinburgh was an absolute delight. The staff went above and beyond with their kindness, politeness, and helpfulness—always smiling and ready to assist with anything we needed. Our room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere that made it feel like home. What stood out the most was the daily housekeeping: they consistently cleaned the space, refilled the water bottles, and restocked coffee, tea, and sugar without us having to ask. It’s these thoughtful little touches that truly elevate the experience. Every detail felt cared for, making our stay both relaxing and memorable. I’d highly recommend this charming retreat to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Staying at Alexander Guest House was an absolute delight! The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop, making getting around Edinburgh super convenient. The place itself is spotlessly clean and very quiet, which made for a peaceful and restful stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make us feel at home. It’s clear they take pride in what they offer, and every detail reflects that care. I couldn’t recommend this guest house more highly—it’s a true gem in Edinburgh, offering comfort, convenience, and a warm atmosphere all in one. Would definitely return.

I stayed at Edinburgh Regency Guest House during a really tough time, and I can't recommend it for anyone. The staff were polite enough, but the owner clearly doesn’t care about guests’ wellbeing. The rooms are extremely run-down — peeling paint, worn-out furniture, and poor maintenance everywhere. I found signs of rodents and even had worms come out of the shower tray, which was deeply unsettling. I was told it wasn’t harmful to my kids, but how can you trust that when the place is so neglected? There were also uninvited individuals staying there, and my children witnessed and overheard disturbing things — completely unacceptable for a family-friendly space. The owner claims he’d never live in these conditions with his own family, but if that’s true, why allow such a place to operate this way? It’s clear money is the only priority here. This isn’t just a bad stay — it’s unsafe, unsanitary, and utterly disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially not with children.

The Braid Hills Hotel offers a fantastic location—perfect for exploring Edinburgh without needing to worry about parking. We took the bus into the city centre, which was super convenient. The hotel itself is clean and well-maintained, even if it has a bit of vintage charm with its slightly worn character. That said, it’s part of what makes the place feel unique and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It’s not flashy, but it delivers great value and a genuine local vibe. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, authentic experience in Edinburgh.

Staying at Salisbury Court was an absolute delight, especially with my mom and 9-year-old kid. From the warm welcome to the super helpful checkout process, every interaction was friendly and efficient. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room spotless, and having access to a kitchen and shared lounge made our stay so much more enjoyable—especially getting to chat with a grandmother and her daughter from the Netherlands! Despite being quite full, it stayed peaceful and quiet throughout our visit. The location was perfect—we were close to Arthur’s Seat, could easily hail a cab to and from the train station, and even enjoyed a nice walk into the city center. It’s rare to find such a well-located, clean, and welcoming place with great amenities and a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend for families or travelers looking for comfort and convenience in Edinburgh.

My friends and I were looking for a cozy, well-located place to rest during our city trip, and this guest house totally exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with a lovely blend of modern comfort and local charm. Best part? It's literally across from a bus stop—getting around the city, whether it’s to historic sites, museums, or shopping areas, is super easy and stress-free. The staff were warm and helpful, and the room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped. For such a great location, price, and service, it truly deserves every point. The bathroom was recently renovated, beautifully designed, and everything worked perfectly. Located just a short walk from the city center, we were surrounded by fantastic restaurants and lively bars. A wonderful park was only a 3-minute stroll away—perfect for a relaxing evening stroll. If we ever return to Edinburgh, we’d definitely choose this hotel again. Huge thanks to the entire team at The Valentine for such a welcoming and memorable stay. Our stay at Rosehall Hotel was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, everything felt exceptional—the cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the furnishings, and the thoughtful touches throughout the property made us feel right at home. The breakfast was a highlight: fresh, delicious, and well-presented. What truly set this place apart was Jennifer, the hotel owner—she’s one of the most genuinely kind and helpful people we’ve ever met. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy during our visit. The location is perfect: quiet and peaceful without being isolated, just a short walk to the city center, with convenient bus stops nearby. Best of all, our room offered a stunning view of Arthur’s Seat—worth waking up for every morning. This isn’t just a great hotel; it’s a memorable experience. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Arrandale Guest House. Staying at Ivy- Braveheart Guest House was one of the best decisions I made during my trip to Edinburgh. It’s perfectly located—just a short walk from the city center and surrounded by everything you need: great cafes, restaurants, a nearby park, and even a supermarket. The room was spotless, incredibly quiet at night, and the shower was fantastic with strong water pressure and excellent hot water. I especially appreciated the kettle and complimentary tea and coffee—perfect for a cozy morning in. This place offers incredible value for money, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s a comfortable, welcoming home base for exploring the city.

I absolutely loved Airdenair Guest House—right from the moment I walked in, I felt at home. My room (number 5) was cozy and charming, with a lovely window overlooking a peaceful view that made mornings so relaxing. The bed was comfortable, and the whole space had that warm, welcoming vibe you don’t always find in guesthouses. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and they always had extras ready to refill—super thoughtful. I appreciated the little touches like toilet paper, dry shampoo, and adapters available throughout the common areas. It’s these small details that make a big difference. Located just a 10-minute bus ride from Edinburgh city center, it’s actually very walkable too—especially if you enjoy a scenic stroll through quiet streets. Special shoutout to Duncan, the owner—he’s genuinely kind, helpful, and always ready to lend a hand or share local tips. I can’t imagine coming back to Edinburgh without staying here again. This place has heart, and I’ll definitely be returning.
