Staying at Travelodge Edinburgh Cameron Toll was an absolute highlight of my trip to Edinburgh! The room was spotless, spacious, and super comfortable with a great bed that made for a restful night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, with all essentials provided. Breakfast was fantastic—freshly cooked eggs, local sausages, warm pastries, and strong coffee. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in and check-out process seamless. What stood out most was how quiet the hotel was—no noise from the street or neighboring rooms, which made it easy to relax. It’s a great value for the quality, and I’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh!
Emmaus Guest House Edinburgh
We stayed at this five-bedroom, five-bathroom house for three nights and found it great for our large group. Since we were out most of the day, the unreliable Wi-Fi wasn’t a major issue—but when we were actually at home, the connection was frustratingly weak or completely dropped. The bathrooms were inconsistent too: some rooms had spacious ones, but the top-floor bedroom shared a tiny bathroom with barely any room to place toiletries—everything had to go on the floor. Also, the TVs were only portable-sized, which felt underwhelming for the price point. For a property like this, decent-sized TVs and reliable internet should be standard. Overall, the house was functional and spacious enough for a family or group, but the lack of proper amenities made the experience feel a bit disappointing given the cost.

Located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the city center, it offers the perfect balance between peace and convenience. What stood out most was the personalized recommendations—she shared great spots nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which made exploring the area so much easier. It's clear she genuinely cares about her guests' experience. This stay was nothing short of excellent, and I’d happily return. Highly recommend!
The Valentine - Townhouse Hotel - Adults Only
We arrived at The Valentine and were warmly greeted by Monica, who was incredibly friendly and immediately offered some great local walking suggestions. The room was spacious and inviting—bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was recently renovated, beautifully designed, and everything worked perfectly. Located just a short walk from the city center, we were surrounded by fantastic restaurants and lively bars. A wonderful park was only a 3-minute stroll away—perfect for a relaxing evening stroll. If we ever return to Edinburgh, we’d definitely choose this hotel again. Huge thanks to the entire team at The Valentine for such a welcoming and memorable stay. Edinburgh is a stunning, safe city with friendly locals—truly a gem of a destination!

The rooms are quiet and cozy, and the breakfast was exceptional—fresh, locally sourced, and beautifully presented. What really stood out was the location: right outside the front door is a bus stop with frequent service to the city center, making exploring easy and stress-free. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s an experience. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

I booked this hotel at the last minute for my five-year-old daughter and me after my wife was unexpectedly admitted to a hospital in Edinburgh during our holiday in Scotland. While the location is a bit off the beaten path, it's easily accessible by train or car, and the surrounding countryside adds to the overall experience. The architecture and interiors are incredibly photogenic—every corner looks like a scene from a period drama. The only minor downside is some noticeable sound transfer between floors, so quiet moments might be interrupted occasionally. But honestly, the ambiance, privacy, and unique character more than make up for it. A truly memorable stay with high value for money.
Summer Stays at The University of Edinburgh
Staying in a university dorm as a tourist was such a unique experience—really brought back memories of my own student days. The check-in staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding us through all the amenities like self-service laundry, breakfast options, convenience shop, bar, and lounges. The room itself was spacious—actually larger than many hotels I’ve stayed at. The ensuite bathroom and shower were compact but perfectly functional, and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. Having a working elevator made things so much easier, especially with our heavy luggage. Even though the room faces an open courtyard where students gather, there was absolutely no noise disturbance—it never got loud late into the night. There are several lounges, a small pantry, and even a games room, which added to the lively campus vibe. Breakfast was outstanding—the dining hall was huge, well-organized, and full of freshly cooked food: eggs, sausages, haggis, cereals, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a wide variety of breads. The energy in the space was electric—full of youthful buzz, just like any real university campus. Located right at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, the surroundings are stunning. Plus, getting to the city center is super easy—buses run frequently, and it’s actually not far to walk if you’re up for a scenic stroll. A truly memorable stay with great value and a fantastic atmosphere.

The No 45 Hotel is absolutely charming and well-maintained, with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. It's super easy to reach by bus from the city center—no hassle at all. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful, making the entire stay feel warm and personal. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If I ever return to Edinburgh, this will be my first choice without hesitation. A truly memorable place to stay.
AmarAgua Guest House
Had an absolutely wonderful two-night stay at AmarAgua Guest House—truly exceptional! Kuan, the host, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The traditional Scottish breakfast was a highlight—rich, hearty, and full of local charm. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean, and cozy, with thoughtful touches that made it feel special. To our delight, we were surprised with a bottle of champagne for our 50th birthday celebration—such a sweet and memorable gesture. The location is perfect too—just steps away from a peaceful country park where we spotted adorable Highland cows wandering around. It’s quiet yet close to everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back—it’s one of those rare stays that leaves you wanting more.
Destiny Student - Castle Studios
I first stayed at SC Edinburgh during my first year of university, right in the middle of the pandemic, and honestly, it’s been my home ever since. The all-inclusive studio was spotless, spacious, and had everything I needed to live independently—comfortable double bed, a well-appointed en-suite bathroom with a high-quality shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and an impressively large desk that easily fit my iMac, laptop, monitor, plus room to spread out study notes and even eat meals. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available whenever I have a question or issue. At night, there’s a professional security team on duty, along with 24/7 CCTV coverage and secure gates—feeling safe is never a concern. Maintenance and cleaning requests are handled within 24 hours, often much faster if urgent. The amenities are top-notch: a modern gym, cozy common areas, plenty of tech for gaming and streaming, a wide selection of books, dedicated study spaces, and even a bike shed. There are regular themed social events that make it easy to connect with fellow residents—no more feeling isolated. Because of the exceptional quality of the rooms and the outstanding service, I’ve chosen to stay here through multiple years of study. I can’t imagine a better place to live while focusing on my education.

Wi-Fi comes with a fee, which is a bit of a downside, but since I used my mobile data, it wasn’t an issue for me. It’s a no-frills option, but perfect if you’re looking for a quiet, affordable place to rest between trips. I’d definitely consider staying here again, especially for a weekend getaway or overnight stop.
