I’ve visited Amsterdam several times before, but this was my first stay at Het Kabinet—and I absolutely loved it. While the room isn’t huge—especially with that spacious bed taking up most of the space—it’s central Amsterdam, and honestly, who needs extra room when there’s so much to explore just outside your door? We walked everywhere—downtown was just a 20 to 25-minute stroll through Vondelpark, which gave us a genuine sense of the city’s rhythm and charm. Trams were easy to access and navigate, but walking allowed us to wander freely and soak in the atmosphere of each neighborhood we passed through. Returning to the quiet residential area after a full day of exploring was pure bliss. There are plenty of great restaurants both in the city and close by, but we especially loved unwinding in the suite with takeout meals and a bottle of wine—perfect way to end a wonderful day. The only thing we missed was Paul’s canal boat tour, which had to be postponed due to rain—but we’re already planning to book it on our next visit. For anyone up for a bit of stair climbing, this third-floor gem is nothing short of heaven. We’ll definitely be back—this place has become our favorite home away from home.
