There are lots of tourists mixed with some suspicious characters hanging around narrow alleys, and as someone of Asian descent, I felt noticeably more vulnerable. For safety, I’d strongly recommend taking taxis instead of walking, especially after dark—don’t risk it for a few euros saved.
