I've stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown multiple times, and while I appreciate the consistent quality, there are a few things worth mentioning. The free luggage storage is a real plus—efficient, hassle-free, and well-organized, which is incredibly convenient when arriving early or departing late. Breakfast options are somewhat limited; it's always the same selection, which makes sense given the space constraints in Manhattan, but adding a few more local touches could enhance the experience. Room size is compact—two 26-inch suitcases barely fit with room to spare—but the layout is smart, and cleanliness is top-notch. That said, noise insulation is a major downside. Each room has a door leading directly to the adjacent one, which is usually locked, but you can still hear everything: conversations, toothbrushing, bathroom sounds. Early morning flights mean loud packing and movement from neighboring guests, which is especially disruptive when you're already struggling with jet lag. This constant disturbance made sleep difficult on several occasions. Despite this, the location is unbeatable, service remains reliable, and the overall vibe is welcoming. With better soundproofing, this hotel would be a perfect choice for business travelers or those needing quick access to downtown Manhattan.

Staying at the Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square West was an absolute highlight of my trip! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly—despite booking through a third-party platform, I still received all the Hilton Honors benefits including a room upgrade, bonus points, and complimentary drinks and snacks. That’s seriously impressive value. The hotel is perfectly located on a bustling street full of other hotels, just steps away from the main action in Times Square. Even late at night (after 10 PM), there were plenty of people around, and while I did see some unhoused individuals during the day, I never saw anything concerning—no scary encounters or safety issues. Overall, it felt secure and well-connected. One small note: there’s a nearby spice shop downstairs with strong aromas, but honestly, you get used to the bold flavors everywhere in NYC. It didn’t affect my stay at all. If you’re visiting New York, this hotel is definitely worth considering for its great location, excellent service, and fantastic perks.

I booked a king-size room, but was assigned a double bed instead. When I asked about the discrepancy, the front desk explained that there were no king rooms available at check-in and only one double room left. They offered us an extra breakfast as compensation—very thoughtful! The breakfast was authentic American style and quite satisfying. There was also a brief issue with the shower not producing water, but after reporting it, the maintenance team responded quickly and fixed it right away. Overall, the hotel is excellent—especially its location just steps from Penn Station. Getting around Manhattan via subway is super convenient. Despite the room mix-up, the staff handled it professionally, and the value for money is strong. Definitely a great choice if you're visiting NYC.

One minor downside: no free toothbrush or toothpaste, and no slippers provided. But honestly, these small things don’t take away from the overall great value and convenience.
