Staying at Umma Barcelona B&B Boutique was a really pleasant experience overall. The only minor hiccup was that the front desk closes at 5:30 PM, which could be tricky if you arrive later—though they send clear instructions ahead of time, so it’s not a big issue. The continental breakfast was solid: fresh coffee, bread, and simple but satisfying options. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English, making check-in and communication easy. My only small frustration was getting the TV to work, but since I don’t watch much TV anyway, it didn’t bother me much. What really stood out was the location—walking distance to the metro and plenty of great local eateries nearby. It’s a quiet, well-located spot with a nice vibe. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Barcelona.

We were never making any noise, yet the management refused to return our security deposit on the grounds that we disturbed neighbors—completely false. There’s a hidden microphone in the unit, and as soon as it picks up any conversation, they call to warn us about complaints from neighbors, which never actually happened. The place is in terrible condition: no shower curtain, a broken lounge chair for over two years, a dangerously loose staircase, torn sofa, and terrace doors that won’t lock. Multiple other reviews mention the exact same issues—this isn’t an isolated case. If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and reliable stay in Barcelona, avoid this property. It’s not worth the risk or the price.
