They even explained why knives couldn’t be loaned out—but kindly offered to have the kitchen prep it (I declined, opting instead to use a $0.01 thin metal spoon I picked up from a nearby congee shop—it actually worked surprisingly well!). Housekeeping staff noticed we were hosting a guest in-room and proactively tidied up, added an extra chair, and made sure everything felt welcoming.
