I absolutely recommend this hotel—our stay during a fair in Cologne was perfect. The location is ideal: just a 10-minute walk from the tram stop, making it easy to explore the city without hassle. Surrounded by great restaurants, shops, and supermarkets, everything you need is within reach. Nestled in the historic district on the opposite side of the river, it’s quiet yet still close to all the action. The breakfast selection was impressive, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room itself was spotless, well-designed, and peaceful—perfect for a good night’s sleep. Every detail felt thoughtfully done. I’d definitely stay here again if I ever return to Cologne.
Hotel Imperial
Hotel Imperial in Cologne-Ehrenfeld is a charming little gem with excellent value for money. Despite its compact size, it’s incredibly convenient—just a 15-minute U-Bahn ride (lines 3 and 4) from major attractions like the trade fair grounds and Lanxess Arena, making it a smart alternative to more expensive city-center hotels. The rooms are a bit dated but spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with air conditioning that came in handy during summer visits. Breakfast looked appealing, though at €18 per person, it felt a bit pricey—we’d rather grab something on the go. On the plus side, the hotel offers parking spots for guests at €25 per night, which is steep but totally justified given how hard and costly street parking can be in Ehrenfeld after 9 PM. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely recommend this cozy, well-located hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Köln 2020 for three nights in mid-March and booked one of the larger deluxe rooms—truly a great choice. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a friendly front desk staff member. The check-in process was stress-free thanks to the option to complete all paperwork online beforehand. Everything was clearly explained, and they even offered to help with luggage—excellent hospitality. As soon as we stepped into our room, we noticed thoughtful little touches: handwritten welcome notes tucked under the pillows signed by the housekeeping team, and a personal greeting from the owner on the table. Even the bathroom glass covers had cheerful messages—such a nice way to make guests feel truly welcome. The room itself was spotless and well-designed, featuring comfortable beds, an open wardrobe, a desk, a small table, a flat-screen TV, and a fan. Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout the building. Our room was on the first floor, directly above the hotel’s restaurant and bar. Despite this, the soundproof windows kept the space remarkably quiet—traffic noise from the nearby busy intersection was barely noticeable. Breakfast was another highlight. We were welcomed by a helpful staff member who walked us through the breakfast area. There was a dedicated tea station, a high-quality coffee machine with a wide selection, and a fridge stocked with small bottles of juice, milk, and water. The buffet offered everything needed for a satisfying morning meal, and special requests were always accommodated. The hotel is located in Nippes, close to the racecourse, with plenty of dining options nearby. Bus and tram stops are within walking distance, making city center access easy. For sightseeing—including museums and attractions—the Köln-Card is a smart choice: it offers significant savings on entry fees and includes public transportation. Overall, the service was top-notch, the room excellent, breakfast outstanding, location convenient, and the price fair. Hotel Köln 2020 is definitely a standout option for anyone visiting Cologne.

Despite minor drawbacks, the location, comfort, and value made this a great choice for a stay in Cologne.
