Casa de Mainha Friendly Hostel
My first shoutout has to go to Isa—she’s absolutely incredible! Words can’t even do justice, but I’ll sum it up in one: amazing person! And then there’s the hostel itself, which honestly feels like an extension of Isa’s own home. It’s incredibly well located—super convenient, clean, cozy, and full of warmth. I genuinely felt at home from the moment I walked in. The whole vibe is so welcoming and personal, it’s hard not to fall in love with it. I’d definitely come back here every time I visit Salvador. A truly special stay!

Casa de Arigoffe is absolutely charming! The facilities are excellent, with 24-hour front desk service and a standout breakfast featuring a special homemade tapioca that’s both delicious and unique. I must mention the wonderful conversations I had with Dona Nira, the owner—her passion for Salvador’s history brought the city’s past to life in such an engaging way. It felt like learning from a local friend rather than just reading a guidebook. The location is perfect too—right in Rio Vermelho, just steps away from Jorge Amado’s house, making it easy to explore the cultural heart of the city. Every moment here felt authentic and memorable. A true gem for travelers seeking warmth, history, and great vibes.
Hotel Pousada Salvador
I stayed at Hotel Pousada Salvador for four nights, but honestly, I couldn’t have lasted more than two days. Every single day brought a new chaos. The service was absolutely unacceptable—staff were rude and unprofessional, and the owner seemed completely out of touch. On the second day, the bathroom showerhead burst, and despite multiple calls, no one came to help. I had to push hard just to get someone to come fix it. The woman working in the kitchen was extremely unhygienic and refused to assist guests—her attitude was awful. To make things worse, the rooms weren’t even properly prepared: no sheets or blankets were provided. I had to call the front desk (and argue a bit) just to get a single sheet. Overall, this place is terrible in every way. I wouldn’t recommend it—even to my worst enemy.
America Towers Hotel
The stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic! The room was quiet and well-insulated, making it a peaceful retreat after a day exploring Salvador. Breakfast was delicious and varied—especially loved the local pastries and fresh fruit. Location-wise, it's incredibly convenient: just a short walk to Salvador Shopping and right next to the metro station, so getting around town is a breeze. I originally booked a standard room, but due to an issue with the air conditioning, the staff kindly upgraded me to a larger suite with two TVs, a comfortable sofa, and a dining table—way more spacious and enjoyable than expected. The team was attentive and efficient in handling the change without any hassle. Overall, the service, comfort, and value for money were outstanding. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salvador—great experience from start to finish.
Real Classic Bahia Hotel
The breakfast was absolutely excellent—especially the fish-shaped towels, which added a fun and unique touch. The room was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. While the shower water wasn’t always hot enough, it didn’t detract much from the overall experience. The front desk and breakfast team went above and beyond with their hospitality. Located just steps from the metro, getting around Salvador is super convenient. A great value for the quality, and I’d definitely book again.

Sotero Hotel by Castelo Itaipava
