The only thing to note is that it can get a bit noisy at night due to the proximity to the subway and higher foot traffic. I’d recommend avoiding street-facing rooms if you're sensitive to noise. Overall, this hotel offers great value, comfort, and accessibility—perfect for travelers who prioritize convenience and a central location. Would definitely stay here again.

That said, the location is quite far from the city center and main attractions. If you're only staying for one or two nights, it might be better to choose a place closer to the action. The good news? Bus line 150 stops right outside the hotel and goes directly to Puerta del Sol with no transfers, making public transit a convenient option. Just keep in mind that taxis in Madrid are extremely expensive—my ride from the hotel to the city center cost over €30, which isn’t ideal for short stays. Overall, this hotel works better for longer visits when you’re looking to save on transport costs and don’t mind a bit of distance. For travelers prioritizing convenience and budget, especially those planning to explore on foot or by bus, this place offers great value.

I have to warn everyone about this place—Pensión Navarra in Madrid is a nightmare. I’ve stayed here four times before and trusted the owner completely, so I booked four nights directly over the phone like I did previously. When I arrived after midnight, as agreed, the door was locked. I stood outside with my luggage, no one answered my calls—even though I’d already informed her of my late arrival. I finally got someone to open the door, but only a neighbor. When I entered, she claimed there were no rooms left. I insisted I had a confirmed reservation. She denied it entirely, said all rooms were taken, and even accused me of lying. Her tone was cold, dismissive, and utterly disrespectful—like I was nothing. I asked for a complaint form, but she refused, saying I wasn’t registered, so she wouldn’t provide one. I left furious. That night, I barely managed to secure a room at 4 a.m. thanks to my friend Yelena’s relentless efforts calling hotels. I walked five places myself—all full. The city was packed due to a Madrid-Barcelona match, and every hotel was sold out. I ended up staying in Tres Cantos, far from the city center, at a steep price. The next day, I spent eight straight hours searching for another room—pure chaos. On Saturday, I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor, borrowing space from my course instructor since no affordable options existed anywhere in Madrid. It wasn’t until Sunday that I found another room. This experience caused extreme stress and emotional exhaustion. Yes, I should’ve kept written proof—but I trusted her word, just like before. She clearly took advantage of the situation, knowing demand would spike during the big game. I believe karma will catch up. Please, do not let this happen to you. Stay away from Pensión Navarra.

The room has been completely renovated and the beds are very comfortable. It comes with a TV, desk, air conditioning, mini-fridge, and towels—basic amenities are all there. However, the check-in experience was quite frustrating. We booked through a platform that listed one address, but the day before arrival we were suddenly redirected to a different location (Marcos de Orueta), which threw off our plans significantly. We had given a half-hour window for arrival, but the hostess showed up much later. We ended up sitting at a nearby bar having a beer while waiting. The worst part? The noise from the neighbors above is unbearable—especially at night, it’s hard to get any rest. While the room itself is clean and well-maintained, the lack of proper communication and poor sound insulation really hurt the overall experience. Not ideal for travelers seeking peace and quiet.

The location is excellent—just a short metro ride into central Madrid, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. While there was an unexpected additional charge that impacted the final cost, the overall experience made it well worth it. I’d definitely book again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Madrid.
