After arriving at the airport at 10:30 PM, it took about 30 minutes to reach Wien HBF by train—slightly longer than usual, as trains tend to be faster earlier in the day. The hostel is just a 5- to 10-minute walk from the station, crossing a well-lit square and road, which felt safe and welcoming. Check-in was smooth and stress-free: I simply filled out the details online on the day of arrival, which was incredibly convenient for late check-ins. Shortly after, I received access codes for the hostel, room, and even my bed—total self-service with zero hassle. The four-person room was surprisingly spacious, and each bed had a lockable privacy curtain, making it feel secure and personal. There were plenty of bathrooms and toilets, all kept spotlessly clean. The mattress was comfortable and hygienic, though I did have to make the bed myself—a small inconvenience when you're tired after a long flight, but understandable given the self-service model. Checkout? No need to do anything—just leave through the door. Overall, if you're looking for a reliable, affordable, and well-located base in Vienna for a night or two, this is an excellent choice. There was a noticeable infestation of small ants in the kitchen—whenever we started using the space, they would quickly appear, which was quite unsettling. Additionally, nighttime was disrupted by a continuous dragging sound coming from a locked technical room nearby, along with occasional noises from adjacent utility areas. While the price was reasonable and the layout functional, the lack of quietness and hygiene concerns make it hard to recommend. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option and can overlook these details, it might still work—but for a peaceful stay, it's better to look elsewhere.
