I booked an Executive Room and asked for a west-facing view; the front desk was incredibly thoughtful, arranging a room on the 37th floor. The room itself is well-maintained. While there wasn’t originally a power outlet at the bedside, they’ve since added a built-in universal socket to the nightstand—very convenient. The mini-bar isn’t free, but at least it’s stocked, which feels more welcoming than an empty shelf. The bathtub was spotless, and the Bvlgari amenities had a subtle, pleasant scent. The bedding? Absolutely dreamy—soft, supportive, and perfect for a deep sleep. The ergonomic chair lives up to its reputation—it’s comfortable, though not mind-blowing. The view from the window is spectacular: sweeping from Houhai all the way to Lujiazui, especially stunning at sunset. The indoor pool maintains a consistently warm temperature, making swimming enjoyable even during cold, windy weather. The gym is fully equipped and well-kept. However, the Executive Lounge on the 40th floor is closed, so welcome hours are now only available in the lobby, and breakfast is served in a shared area rather than a dedicated space. The food selection isn’t extensive, but it’s varied enough and of good quality. Yes, the hotel’s infrastructure shows age, but the service is where it truly shines.
