The lobby exudes elegance and warmth, while the Grand Salon feels straight out of a film set. Rooms, though on the smaller side, are smartly designed, incredibly comfortable, and feature excellent air conditioning and powerful rain showers. After a long day exploring Lyon, the basement spa area—complete with pool, sauna, steam room, and tea lounge—was pure bliss. Cocktails were crafted with care and served in vintage glassware, though martinis and old-fashioneds could use a bit more spirit. Super convenient for getting around the city. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly; one even offered me a map of Lyon and marked out recommended spots based on what I wanted to see—big shoutout to Elise, who truly went above and beyond with her helpfulness. The room was clean, well-maintained, and spotless—exactly what you want after a long journey. Breakfast was served in the ground-floor restaurant, which has a bright, open atmosphere and great natural lighting. I had my first-ever experience with a croissant sandwiched with strawberry jam and hoisin sauce—unexpected but surprisingly delicious! There was a little mix-up with my tea order: I asked for a cup of black tea, but the server handed me a tea bag instead. By the time I realized it, I’d already opened it—so I ended up drinking it anyway, which made for a funny moment. It didn’t ruin the experience at all—it actually added a touch of charm.
