Upon check-in, we were disappointed by the cleanliness of the bed and bathroom—so dirty that we had to request staff to change rooms immediately. The overall condition of the room and facilities doesn’t match the price point. While the neighborhood is nice and close to Punjab Club, the lack of maintenance and basic hygiene standards significantly impacts the experience. It’s clear this hotel has potential, but without immediate renovations and better housekeeping, it will struggle to meet guest expectations.

Staying at Hotel Pushpak International in Kolkata was a mixed experience. The room itself was quite old and lacked an elevator, which made carrying luggage up to the upper floors very inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you're looking for a budget option with minimal expectations. It’s clear that improvements in hygiene, upkeep, and guest convenience are needed to raise the standard.
The Stadel
I was really impressed with my stay at The Stadel overall—everything exceeded my expectations. The only minor quirk was the pool schedule, which runs until 9:00 PM and then reopens at 6:00 PM, leaving a gap in between—slightly confusing but not a dealbreaker. Also, towels in the pool area are charged, which I found a bit surprising, though it’s a small thing. That said, these didn’t detract from the excellent experience at all. The staff truly made the difference—special thanks to the front desk team, especially Sony, the bar staff at the Egyptian Bar, the manager, and the restaurant waitstaff. Everyone was warm, professional, and attentive. The ambiance is elegant, the location is convenient, and the value for money is outstanding. I’ll definitely recommend this hotel to friends and colleagues—and I’m already planning to come back myself.
