Our stay at Scottish Inns Austin Downtown was disappointing, to say the least. We were shocked to find numerous baby roaches in the bathroom—definitely not what you expect from a hotel. The sink had major drainage issues; as soon as we turned on the water, it started flooding within seconds. The bathtub floor was cracked in several places, and the shower curtain rod was half broken, making it impossible to keep the curtain closed. Water constantly spilled onto the floor, creating a slippery mess. The sheets and blankets were in terrible condition—covered in small burn marks and tears, clearly showing years of neglect. There were also multiple poorly patched areas on the walls, indicating past damage that was never properly repaired. Overall, the room felt extremely run-down. It was only barely worth the low rate we paid. If we’d known about the condition beforehand, we definitely would’ve chosen a different place. For travelers looking for cleanliness and comfort, this property isn’t recommended.

If I could rate it higher than 10, I definitely would. A must-stay for anyone visiting Austin!

The quiet, peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a true retreat, yet everything I needed was just a short walk away—dining spots, shopping areas, and popular attractions were all easily accessible. The location is unbeatable, nestled in the heart of campus with plenty of greenery and a calm vibe. Parking costs $21, which is a bit steep, but given how convenient the spot is and how close it is to everything, it's totally justified. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations—highly recommend for anyone visiting Austin, especially students, travelers, or business guests looking for a serene yet central base.
