I stayed at Fox Hotel the Hague Scheveningen and had a fantastic experience overall. The room was clean, well-maintained, and though the luggage storage space is modest, it’s more than sufficient for a short stay. Front desk staff are available from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and when I needed a hairdryer, they responded quickly and were very helpful. Great value for money, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, convenient base near the beach with easy access to everything.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and amenities in this two-star hotel. The room was spotless, and they provided shampoo, soap, a shower cap, and other essentials—something I didn’t expect at this price point. Having a private bathroom in the room is a real plus, and the shared facilities were equally clean and well-maintained. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful—she even arranged to store my bike safely downstairs for the night, which made my trip much more convenient. Breakfast was excellent: fresh coffee, a wide variety of options, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The only minor downside is that rooms can get quite warm in the evening, and the fan doesn’t do much to cool things down. But overall, the comfort, service, and value make this a standout choice, especially for travelers who prioritize convenience and cleanliness without breaking the bank.

This wasn’t mentioned during booking or upon check-in, so I didn’t realize it until late at night when I needed to use the restroom. I ended up having to wander around the building trying to find it—quite inconvenient, especially after a long day. It’s a minor but noticeable issue that could easily be avoided with clearer signage or a note in the confirmation details. Overall, the experience was positive, and the room quality matches the listing. Just wish the layout had been more transparent upfront.

A great spot for a one or two-night stay. The room was comfortable and the beds were very cozy—perfect for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, there’s no coffee or tea-making facilities, nor a mini-fridge in the room. Breakfast isn’t available on-site, but there are plenty of nearby cafes and restaurants within walking distance if you’re looking for a proper morning meal. The only downside is the staircase—since we were on the top floor, it was a bit tricky to navigate, especially for someone with less-than-perfect eyesight. That said, the location is fantastic: just step out the front door and you’re right by the sea. The atmosphere is peaceful, the views are lovely, and overall, we were really happy with our stay. A solid choice if you're looking for a quiet, seaside retreat with easy access to local dining.
New City Hotel Scheveningen
Our stay at New City Hotel Scheveningen was a bit underwhelming, to say the least. We arrived earlier than expected—around 11 AM—and were pleasantly surprised that our room was already ready for check-in. This allowed us to drop off our bags and make the most of the rest of the day, which was a nice touch. The room we stayed in was located right next to the main entrance, so it was easy to access. That said, the stairs leading up to the upper floors are quite narrow, making it tricky if you’re carrying large suitcases—though backpacks or smaller bags work fine. The room itself felt clean, and the bed linens looked fresh. However, the bathroom had some quirks: one room had a noticeable step just inside the door, so caution is advised when entering. Also, the shower and toilet aren’t separated by a floor-level barrier—you have to walk past the shower to get to the toilet, so going barefoot is definitely recommended if you want to keep your socks dry. On the morning after arrival, I found a silverfish lurking under the trash can—slightly unsettling, but not deal-breaking. The rooms are fairly soundproofed, though, so be prepared for some noise from neighboring rooms, especially at night. My room featured a spacious balcony, perfect for relaxing with a drink. The mattress was extremely soft—so much so that it created a deep dip in the center. While this might feel cozy at first, the raised edges on either side offered decent support. The double bed was actually two single beds pushed together, which worked fine. One odd moment came during check-in: although the app showed payment as complete, the charge hadn’t yet cleared on our credit card. We were asked to pay in person, and unfortunately, we lost out on the 10% discount that was promised in the app—a bit confusing and slightly disappointing. As for breakfast, there wasn’t any offered, but honestly, there are plenty of great cafes and brunch spots nearby, so it’s not a major issue. Overall, the hotel offers decent value for its location and convenience, especially if you’re looking for a quick stopover or don’t mind minor drawbacks. Not a standout, but functional and reasonably comfortable.

The management team went above and beyond to help us when our taxi driver took us to the wrong address—promptly resolving the issue with clear communication and genuine care. Despite our last-minute booking, every interaction was smooth and professional. The location is ideal for exploring the city, with easy access to public transit and nearby attractions. Clean, comfortable rooms, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. I’ll definitely be returning here on my next trip to Europe—highly recommend this fantastic property.

We stayed here for two nights and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location is fantastic: just a 10-minute walk to the inner courtyard and only about 5 minutes to nearby shops. Right next to the hotel is a cozy Irish pub—perfect for a relaxed evening drink. We were in room 9, which had a private door leading to a quiet inner garden, adding a lovely touch of privacy and tranquility. The room itself was spacious, well-appointed, and featured a huge, modern shower that made morning routines feel luxurious. Everything about this boutique hotel felt thoughtfully designed, from the ambiance to the details. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s an experience. Highly recommend for travelers who appreciate charm, comfort, and a central yet peaceful location.
B & B Villa Suisse
Absolutely perfect location for our visit to The Hague! We stayed here for a show at the Circustheater, and the hotel’s position couldn’t have been more ideal—just a short walk away with easy access to public transit. The warm welcome from the staff made us feel right at home. While the price is on the higher side, it’s well justified by the prime location, peaceful surroundings, and excellent service. Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, from the cozy rooms to the quiet neighborhood. If you’re visiting The Hague for an event or just exploring, this is a top choice. Highly recommend staying here!
