I stayed here for 2.5 days on a business trip, and everything ran smoothly. The staff stood out—professional, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. They genuinely cared about guest comfort. That said, the property does show signs of wear and could benefit from a refresh or renovation to maintain its charm long-term. Still, with its serene setting, thoughtful service, and excellent location, it’s a solid choice for travelers looking for something authentic and off the beaten path.

We're from Malaysia and came to Chennai for a vacation. Staying at The Chennai Residency was a great choice! The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The breakfast options are already good, though there's room to expand the variety—currently, only a few items are available, but the quality and taste are solid. Special thanks to Shunmugam and Kathiresan for their outstanding housekeeping—everything was always clean and fresh. The location is convenient, close to public transport and local eateries, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, this place offers excellent value for money and a welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to fellow travelers visiting Chennai.
