The staff went above and beyond: friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Special thanks to Komal and Poushali at the front desk—warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. The telephone operator even kindly let me use the weighing scale when needed—a small gesture that made a big difference. Evenings were lively and fun, with live band performances and dance acts that added such positive energy to the atmosphere. It’s rare to find a hotel that feels both luxurious and genuinely warm. While breakfast options were somewhat limited, the quality was excellent—simple but delicious, with fresh flavors that really stood out. The building itself is older but impeccably clean and well-maintained, with attention to detail in every corner. It’s clear the management takes pride in keeping things tidy and functional. Overall, this is a reliable, no-frills hotel with genuine hospitality and unbeatable location—definitely worth considering if you're visiting Chennai.
Hotel Victoria
The Hotel Victoria in Chennai didn't meet my expectations. The room had a noticeable musty odor, and the air conditioning took nearly an entire night to cool down properly—frustrating for a restful stay. Lighting was extremely dim, making it nearly impossible to read printed material without straining your eyes, not to mention doing makeup; I felt like I was getting ready for Halloween instead! The shower pressure was so weak that it felt more like a mist than a proper bath—definitely not efficient. To make matters worse, there were no toiletries provided, no electric kettle, and very few additional amenities. While the location is decent, the overall experience fell short of what I’d expect at this price point. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
The Iris Hotel
The stay at The Iris Hotel was pretty underwhelming. The restaurant isn’t functional at all—breakfast is just a pre-packed meal, and if you opted for the lunch/dinner package, it’s only vegetarian options, which limits choices significantly. The elevator was non-operational during our visit, so with my second-floor room, I had to wait for staff to come and unlock the door using a key machine every time—very inconvenient. The room itself was decent in size and cleanliness, but we noticed a few cockroaches, which was disappointing. Looking at the branding and design, it seems like this used to be an Irish-themed hotel that was recently rebranded and taken over by another operator. While the name change might be fresh, the management and upkeep don’t reflect that. Overall, it’s not bad for a quick stopover, but definitely not worth recommending if you’re looking for reliability or comfort. Would not return unless there’s a major upgrade.

It’s rare to find such a well-rounded experience—great value, excellent service, and a peaceful atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chennai. 10/10 without hesitation!
Ktdc Rain Drops Hotel
Staying at Ktdc Rain Drops Hotel was an absolute delight! The food at the restaurant truly stood out—especially the Onam Sadhya, which offered an incredible variety of traditional dishes that were both flavorful and authentic. The service was outstanding from start to finish; staff members were polite, attentive, and even checked in after our meal to make sure everything was perfect. That little extra touch made the whole experience feel personal and warm. The hotel’s location is also convenient for exploring nearby attractions, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. Definitely a place I’d return to without hesitation.
