Cleanliness was good for the most part, and staff were friendly and attentive. What really stood out was the location: the subway station is just a 10-minute walk from the 9/11 Memorial, making access to downtown Manhattan effortless. The Financial District area is surprisingly quiet and not overly crowded, offering a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city. Best of all? The hotel faces Hudson River, so waking up to that view was absolutely breathtaking. Perfect for travelers who want a central yet serene stay without compromising on comfort or convenience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting New York.

Staying at Hotel Mulberry was a great experience overall. While it’s a bit farther from the station, the affordable rate made it a perfect budget-friendly choice. There are plenty of restaurants nearby—no need to worry about finding food, whether it’s breakfast or dinner. My flight back was late at night, so I was glad they offered luggage storage after check-in, though there’s an extra fee if you arrive after 7 PM—just plan ahead. The in-room TV had access to YouTube and Netflix, which was a nice bonus for relaxing after a long day. Storage space was well thought out too—the closet and drawers were spacious and convenient. One highlight was Big Wong just steps away from the hotel; it opens early in the morning and serves delicious, affordable meals—definitely worth a visit.

What really stood out was the price—way more affordable than other hotels in the area, without compromising on comfort. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making check-in and any requests a breeze. I’m genuinely sad to hear it’s closed now. If it were still open, I’d definitely come back. For a no-frills, practical stay with a great location and excellent value, this place is hard to beat.
