Downtown Mexico

Paulina and Roberto stayed at this hotel and were impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff. However, they noted that the bathroom was only separated by curtains, which felt a bit lacking in privacy—something they’d recommend improving. They also mentioned the room lighting was quite dim, making the space feel dark overall; upgrading the lighting would greatly enhance the ambiance. Despite these minor concerns, they appreciated the convenient downtown location and found the overall value to be excellent. A solid choice for travelers seeking a Design Hotels™ experience in Mexico City.

Domingo Santo Hotel Boutique

Staying at Domingo Santo Hotel Boutique was an absolute delight! The location is perfect—just a short metro ride from the city center, with plenty of local cafes, boutiques, and street vendors nearby. The neighborhood has such a vibrant, authentic vibe, especially in the evening when the little food stalls come alive. The hotel itself is a true gem—every detail reflects thoughtful design and artistic flair. From the elegant lobby to the well-appointed rooms, everything feels curated with care. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I slept like a baby all night. The air felt fresh, and the soundproofing kept things quiet and peaceful. Staff were warm and helpful, offering little treats and refreshments that made the stay even more special. It’s rare to find such charm, quality, and value in one place—this hotel truly stands out. I’d happily return again and recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City.

Staying at the Holiday Inn Express Mexico Basilica was an absolute delight. The room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, offering a comfortable retreat after exploring the city. Cleanliness stood out—everything from the linens to the bathroom felt fresh and well-maintained. I especially loved the breakfast spread: fresh ingredients, delicious flavors, and a great variety of local favorites that made mornings special. Location-wise, it's unbeatable—just steps away from the iconic Mexico City Cathedral, with easy access to public transit and nearby restaurants. Everything you need is within reach, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. City Express by Marriott Ciudad de México la Villa

I stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The location is super convenient—right across from a grocery store, so grabbing snacks or essentials is a breeze. It’s also close to public transit if you’re exploring downtown Mexico City. The room was clean and well-equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, hairdryer, and standard toiletries—everything you’d need for a short stay. Breakfast included milk, scrambled eggs, bread, and fresh fruit—simple but satisfying. I didn’t stay long, but the value for money was excellent. If I’m ever in Mexico City again, especially on a quick trip or layover, I’d definitely consider coming back.

Hotel Gillow

Hotel Gillow is perfectly located in the heart of Mexico City's historic district, making it easy to explore nearby attractions on foot. I loved starting my mornings with a jog around the square, listening to the church bells during Mass—such a peaceful way to begin the day. In the evenings, I enjoyed strolling to local street food stalls for a casual drink and some delicious snacks—authentic and vibrant! The metro station is just steps away, so getting around the city is super convenient. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, and I especially appreciated the communal lounge areas on each floor—great for meeting up with fellow travelers or just relaxing. It’s rare to find such a welcoming, well-organized hotel in this area. Everything about this stay felt thoughtfully designed. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Hotel El Salvador

Staying at Hotel El Salvador was an absolutely delightful experience. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-maintained—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff went above and beyond with their hospitality; they were friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. I accidentally damaged an umbrella during my stay, and instead of asking me to pay, they simply waved it off with a smile. That kind of thoughtful service truly made a difference. Located just minutes from the city center, it’s super convenient for exploring Mexico City by metro. For the quality, comfort, and exceptional service, this hotel is a standout choice. I’ll definitely be back.

Hotel MX lagunilla CDMX, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

This hotel exceeded my expectations—rarely do I find a place that truly stands out. The room was spacious and stylish, with a beautifully designed bathroom that felt private and modern. The window had an almost blackout roller shade (with a side track to prevent light leakage), which made for a very peaceful sleep despite being on a busy street. Although there was no air conditioning, it wasn’t necessary—the weather was mild during my visit, especially with the rainy season in full swing. I arrived early and was able to drop off my luggage at 12 PM, even though check-in wasn’t until 3 PM—free baggage storage is a great perk. For early check-in, there’s an extra fee of around 500 MXN (~$25 USD), so worth noting if you’re planning ahead. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout my stay. My only minor concern was the bathroom floor—it’s glass tile without anti-slip coating, so walking barefoot can be risky. Also, the shampoo and soap bottles are fixed on the wall opposite the shower, meaning you have to walk back and forth each time you need to grab them. This could be slightly dangerous, especially with the non-slip surface. Still, considering I booked for just 910 MXN (~$45 USD) instead of the regular rate of 1,400 MXN (~$70 USD), the value was outstanding. At full price, I’d have considered it average—but at this rate? Absolutely worth it. A fantastic choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and great pricing.

Hotel MX zocalo CDMX, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! The room was spotlessly clean and freshly cleaned every day—no waiting around, just prompt service. I appreciated how well-maintained everything felt throughout my stay. Located just steps away from the metro station, getting around Mexico City was super convenient. I loved exploring the local neighborhoods on foot, with authentic street food and vibrant markets right outside the door. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the warm, welcoming vibe. While the soundproofing isn’t perfect—some noise from the hallway made its way in—it’s a small trade-off for such a great overall experience. With excellent value, a central location, and a cozy atmosphere, this place is a must-try if you're visiting Mexico City. Highly recommend!

Hotel Ritz Ciudad de México

The hotel just underwent a recent renovation, and it shows—everything feels fresh and well-maintained. The room was spacious with a TV, and the linens and towels were clean and crisp. There’s a mini-fridge with complimentary bottled water and a coffee maker—perfect for early mornings. Since we visited in April, we didn’t need the AC at all; even though it’s in a bustling area, the rooms are surprisingly quiet, and the windows open wide for natural ventilation—great for airflow. The location is fantastic: tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and major attractions are just minutes away. I especially loved the nearby Yunnan-style rice noodle place—authentic and delicious! They also offer airport transfers for just 280 MXN, which is way more affordable than other options I’ve seen (like 380 MXN to downtown). Overall, this hotel delivers excellent value, comfort, and convenience—highly recommend!
