Fera Palace Hotel
Our stay at Fera Palace Hotel was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Leandro greeted us with such warmth and energy—his passion for Salvador truly shone through, making us feel instantly welcome. Bruno went above and beyond by thoughtfully organizing a surprise birthday celebration for our friend, showing incredible care and attention to detail. Every staff member we met was kind, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our experience special. The rooms were spacious and impeccably designed, with beds so comfortable we almost didn’t want to get out of them. The rooftop pool and bar offered breathtaking views of the harbor—perfect for relaxing with a drink in hand. As food lovers, we were blown away by the quality and creativity of the cuisine. We also indulged in a massage with Margot, who delivered an incredibly soothing and professional treatment. Even though we only stayed two nights, it felt like we’d already become part of the Fera family. The hotel’s rich history, prime location, and exceptional team made our time in Salvador truly magical. We can’t wait to return. The price is very fair, and the location is excellent—super convenient for getting around Salvador. I loved how close it was to local restaurants, shops, and attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place felt clean and welcoming throughout my stay. Definitely a great value for the quality you get.
Hotel Pousada Papaya Verde
The hotel is exactly as advertised online—no surprises, just honest value. We stayed for five days and found the place simple but well-equipped with all the essentials. The location is a real highlight: quiet street, close to restaurants, markets, Barra Beach, and Farol da Barra—the heart of Salvador. The hotel offers airport transfers, which made our arrival smooth. Breakfast was solid for the price: fresh juices made from local fruits, eggs cooked to order (including sugar-free options), and at least one homemade cake per day—delicious and thoughtful. I stayed in the 'Uva' room, which had a fan, air conditioning, TV, mini-fridge, private bathroom, and an open closet—comfortable and functional. There's also a pleasant rooftop terrace on the second floor, perfect for relaxing with a drink or enjoying sunset views. The front garden adds charm and privacy to the rooms. No bugs during our stay, and housekeeping was consistent with towel changes and room cleaning. One minor downside: slight humidity in the rooms, though they're constantly repainting to combat it. Staff can be a bit slow and occasionally confused, but it never disrupted our experience. Overall cleanliness could be improved slightly. Still, we highly recommend this place and definitely plan to return.

We were just looking for a place to sleep, but this ended up being one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Right when we arrived, the pillow was covered in someone else's hair—there was no way to tell if it had been changed or not—and it looked pretty grimy. Later that night, we found a cockroach in the bathroom and asked for insecticide, but shockingly, the hotel didn’t even have any. The breakfast was awful—cakes and pastries swarming with flies, and the tapioca was inedible. The overall cleanliness was terrible, and the staff didn’t seem to care. I won’t be returning, and honestly, this stay felt more like a horror story than a vacation. Definitely not worth it.
Beach Front Village
Absolutely avoid this place—leaving felt like escaping a nightmare. This isn’t a hotel, more like a hostel with zero standards. Upon arrival, my booked room had no working air conditioning, and the neighboring unit was under construction—noise so loud it felt like it was inside our room. We asked to switch, but the only available room was a queen-sized bed, so we reluctantly shared it with my husband and 13-year-old son. Then came the worst part: I was in Salvador celebrating a dear friend’s birthday, and she was supposed to stay at the same hotel so we could all be together. When she arrived during a heavy downpour, she discovered her room had been reassigned to us—and she had nowhere to stay. Shocked and heartbroken, she said, 'It’s my birthday!' The owner, Cristiane, replied coldly: 'You’re not getting a room here.' 😱😱 My friend ended up staying with friends, but Cristiane didn’t offer help—no Uber call, no support, nothing. We had no choice but to stay. The next day, we found out breakfast wasn’t included—it cost 37 BRL per person—and again, no courtesy or compensation offered. No face towel, no bath mat, and on Sunday night into Monday, one of the bars played music at ear-splitting volume until 4 AM, then started again at 7 AM. On our final night, there was no hot water for showers. Pure hell. If you value peace, comfort, and basic decency—run away from this place. Don’t let anyone stay here. It’s not worth it.

The hotel itself is simple but clean and well-maintained, offering great value for its central location. We’d recommend choosing rooms at the back for quieter surroundings, away from street noise. The rooms are spacious with a small private terrace—perfect for morning coffee with a view of the bay. Breakfast is served at a nearby pousada just a short walk away, on an outdoor terrace overlooking the water. It’s a delightful way to start the day, surrounded by local charm and sea breezes. Overall, this place strikes the perfect balance between comfort, location, and authenticity. Highly recommended for travelers who appreciate a personal touch and a relaxed vibe.

Absolutely stunning location with unbeatable value for money. The hotel is perfectly situated near the marina, making it easy to explore Salvador on foot or by public transport. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious for the price. Staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I was blown away by how much comfort and convenience you get at this rate—definitely one of the best finds during my trip. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
