Stayed at Ibis Styles Singapore on Macpherson and had a great experience overall. While some front desk staff speak Mandarin, even when none were available, the team was very patient using translation tools to communicate—no issues at all. The booking was split across multiple reservations, but if rooms are available, it would be helpful to just ask to continue staying in your original room instead of checking out and back in again—it saves time. There’s free drinking water available at both the restaurant and ground floor area, so no need to boil water in-room, which is super convenient, especially with kids or for those who drink a lot of water. The location is also close to the MRT station, making it easy to get around the city. Overall, excellent value for money and highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.

Staying on Middle Road puts you in the heart of everything: a short walk to the temple, and just steps away from Albert Centre for some authentic Mee Rebus that’s seriously delicious. Don’t miss the roadside Indian vendor’s two-singapore-dollar milk tea—creamy, rich, and ridiculously affordable. The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful too; once my universal power adapter broke, they immediately lent me a spare—such a lifesaver! And right next to the hotel, there’s an orange juice vending machine offering fresh juice for just two Singapore dollars—cheaper than anything I’ve seen in Shenzhen. I haven’t tried it yet, so if you go, please give it a shot and let me know how it is!

There are tons of Korean restaurants nearby, perfect if you’re craving some kimchi or bibimbap. The staff only speak English, but they’re friendly and helpful whenever needed. Cleaning services come every 2–3 days, and towels are replaced upon request—just bring them down to the front desk. One thing to note: staff leave after 7:30 PM, so plan accordingly if you need assistance later in the evening. The shared washing machine is located at the front counter, with wash and dry both priced at $5 each—way cheaper than local laundry shops. Great for longer stays or travelers packing light. Overall, the apartment is clean, well-maintained, and offers excellent value. I’ll definitely be back.
