Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade
We stayed in the largest suite and were really impressed by the two full bathrooms with showers—super convenient, especially for a group or family. We spent five nights here, and housekeeping was excellent every day; the room was always clean and fresh. Breakfast was decent—above average, but not quite on par with the Sofitel in Paris, which we’ve experienced before. That said, prices are much more reasonable here, and considering the cost difference, it’s actually a great value. The Paris location truly is premium-priced, so this Lisbon property holds its own well. Outside the hotel, there’s a highly-rated Asian restaurant just across the street—great food, authentic flavors, and a lovely atmosphere. We stopped by for dinner after exploring the city and loved it. Overall, this stay was fantastic. The location is central, the staff friendly, and the rooms spacious and well-designed. I’d definitely come back to Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade on my next visit to Lisbon.

Lisbon City Stay @ Largo do Carmo
The location is excellent—right near Largo do Carmo, making it easy to explore Lisbon on foot and access public transit. However, during the hot summer months, the lack of air conditioning made the room quite uncomfortable, especially after a long day of sightseeing. The biggest challenge was the 67 steps leading up to the room—lugging bags up and down multiple times throughout the day was exhausting, particularly for older guests or anyone with limited mobility. While the price point is reasonable, the physical demands and absence of basic comfort features like AC really affect the overall experience. A small upgrade in amenities, like adding an elevator or cooling system, could make a big difference. It’s not a place I’d recommend for travelers prioritizing ease and comfort.
