It’s just a short walk to Heroes’ Square, and from there, exploring the city via Budapest’s historic yellow metro line (the first underground railway in Europe) was such a fun adventure. Stayed at this charming family-run guesthouse in Budapest and was genuinely impressed. The owner and his son speak excellent English and are incredibly warm and welcoming—felt like staying with friends rather than a hotel. One small inconvenience is that you need to ring the doorbell for access, but it’s worth it for the peace of mind—outsiders can’t even enter the courtyard, so security is top-notch. The room is compact and doesn’t have a traditional desk, but it comes with two single beds and a wonderfully relaxing bathtub. What really stood out? The owners went above and beyond—they kindly stored my luggage for an entire weekend, including my MacBook safely packed in the suitcase. No issues at all. Their hospitality made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for travelers who value genuine warmth and safety.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay! I was checked into room 201—nice furniture, a working refrigerator, and fully functional bathroom fixtures. Hot water was excellent, and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. Towels were clean, and the large window opened wide for good ventilation. All the essentials were there. The only small drawbacks were the lack of a hairdryer, only two outlets in the room (plus two near the sink), some minor stains on the carpet and ceiling, and the soap dispenser not working. But honestly, these are just tiny details when you're staying in such a beautiful city. The hotel's location is fantastic—just a short metro ride from the city center to Mária Square, then a quick tram ride (3 or 4 stops), or you can even walk it in about 10 minutes. Breakfast was solid—basic European-style, but fresh, tasty, and filling. Nothing fancy, but definitely satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the pool wasn’t operational during my visit, but the outdoor seating area with tables and benches on the lawn made for a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast in the open air. Evenings were perfect for relaxing out there. Overall, a great experience in a wonderful part of Budapest.
