The Padgett Suites Cebu
Finding Duros Apartment was a bit of a challenge—we ended up searching back and forth along Molave Street before realizing it’s actually located inside Padgett Place. A quick note from the platform about the location would’ve saved us a lot of time. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of room for comfort. However, the kitchen lacked basic essentials—no set of cutlery, plates, or even a toaster. We couldn’t toast our bread slices, which was disappointing. At minimum, guests should expect staples like salt, pepper, sugar, and instant coffee. There was also no dish rack or dish soap, making it nearly impossible to clean mugs, glasses, and plates properly. No hairdryer or ironing board in sight—something most travelers rely on when staying longer. To make matters worse, I noticed small insects crawling around both bathrooms. One of the bathrooms had a non-functional water heater, which was frustrating, especially after a long day. These are not luxury extras—they’re basic necessities expected in any self-catering rental. For a place that’s supposed to offer convenience and comfort, the lack of these fundamentals really dampened the overall experience.

I don’t usually stay at budget hotels like Fuente Hotel de Cebu, but this time it turned out to be one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable stays I’ve had in Cebu. The first time was last-minute: I walked in, asked to see a room, and they showed me one right away. No fuss, no pressure. The room was simple—no frills—but clean and honest. The air conditioning was loud, which is common across many Filipino hotels, even high-end ones, so it didn’t bother me much. What stood out? They actually gave me a quiet room upon request—something I didn’t expect. And at check-in, I received two coffee vouchers. Small gesture, big impact. Breakfast was fantastic: fresh, tasty, served with a warm, cozy vibe. The staff were genuinely kind—so welcoming that their friendliness felt contagious. On my final day, I checked out early, then just stayed in the hotel’s café all afternoon, sipping coffee, working on ideas, even drafting a note and writing a song. It was surprisingly productive. If I judged purely by facilities or comfort, maybe 3 out of 5. But for atmosphere, value for money, food quality, and the human touch—the warmth, the smiles, the little extras—it’s a solid 5. Fuente isn’t about luxury; it’s about heart. And there’s a bonus memory: for the first time ever, I rode a motorbike through the rain across the city to the airport with my luggage. Normally I’d take a car, but that day I wanted adventure. Still makes me smile when I think about it. Bottom line? I remember this place fondly. If I’m back in Cebu, I’ll definitely come back.

Home Solutions in Padgett Place
The bathroom had a strong smell similar to boiled eggs during our stay, which was quite unpleasant. We reported the issue to the staff, but unfortunately, it was never resolved. For three out of four nights, we ended up showering in a friend's room just to avoid the odor. While the location is convenient and close to local attractions, this persistent smell significantly impacted our overall experience. It’s disappointing that such a basic hygiene issue wasn’t addressed promptly. If the hotel doesn’t take steps to fix this, it will be hard to recommend to others.
HappyNest Hostel Cebu
Staying at HappyNest Hostel Cebu was an absolute delight!
