Out of all the places I stayed during my trip—including a few solid hotels—this one truly stood out as the absolute best. The room was incredibly cozy and thoughtfully designed, making it feel like a warm, welcoming home away from home. The bathroom was spotless, and the linens were fresh and high-quality, which made a big difference in comfort. The hosts were incredibly kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They even shared local tips that made our stay so much more enjoyable. And then there’s the cat—adorable beyond words! He stole my heart the moment I saw him, and I couldn’t stop smiling every time he wandered by. I genuinely fell in love with him. I’ll definitely be returning, and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Vancouver.

Staying at Marpole Guest House was an absolute highlight of my Vancouver trip. The moment I walked in, I felt welcomed—the place is clean, thoughtfully laid out, and full of charm. The upstairs bedrooms are spacious, quiet, and impeccably tidy, with cozy bedding that made for a restful night’s sleep. The temperature was just right—never too hot or cold. What stood out most was the shared kitchen and dining area, perfect for preparing meals and enjoying them together. The living room has a comfy couch and a TV, making it a great spot to unwind after a long day. Check-in was seamless, even though we arrived late at night—staff were friendly and reassuring, giving me peace of mind. They also provided a detailed list of local attractions, bus stops, and helpful maps, which made exploring the city so much easier. It’s clear the owners care about their guests’ experience. I’d absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver.

Stayed at a B&B managed by a Chinese host. Originally booked a hostel, but due to a staff error, it was already fully booked and we couldn’t check in. The team quickly arranged a transfer to another nearby B&B just a 10-minute drive away—no hassle at all. The alternative place was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. While the initial mix-up was a bit stressful, the staff handled it professionally and with great care. Their quick response and willingness to help made a big difference. Overall, despite the hiccup, the experience was positive, especially considering the value and friendly service. Definitely worth recommending.

From the moment we arrived, the place felt like home—warm, clean, and thoughtfully put together. The room was spotless with a subtle fresh scent that made it feel cozy and inviting. The bed was soft yet supportive, and I slept better than I have in weeks. The underfloor heating was perfectly set—just enough to keep the space warm and comfortable during the cool Vancouver evenings. Having a private bathroom and a small closet was super convenient, especially for longer stays. We were also able to order food delivery easily from nearby restaurants, which added to the convenience. For the price, this is an unbeatable deal—great value, excellent location near YVR, UBC, and downtown, and a truly relaxing stay. Would definitely book again.

Great value, great vibe, and highly recommend for travelers looking for convenience and comfort in a quiet neighborhood.

The location is excellent—just a short walk from downtown Vancouver and very convenient for public transit. The only downside is that the hosts only speak Chinese, so guests who don’t understand Mandarin will need to rely on a translation app. That said, it’s a minor hurdle considering how well-maintained the villa is, the comfortable layout, and the peaceful neighborhood. Everything else was spot-on: clean, quiet, and great value for money. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Vancouver.

Staying at Rambla in Solarino House was an absolute delight. Located just two blocks from Sydney Road, the property is perfectly positioned in the heart of bustling Brunswick—within walking distance to great cafes, restaurants, and public transit. We booked a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a private balcony and outdoor furniture, which made mornings and evenings so relaxing. The unit was bright and airy, with plenty of natural light and good blackout blinds for restful sleep. The kitchenette was well-equipped with everything we needed—pots, pans, cutlery, and cookware—making it easy to prepare meals on-site. The only minor hiccup was the digital access system, which took a few tries to figure out initially, but once we got the hang of it, it worked fine. Overall, this place offers excellent value, comfort, and convenience. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver who wants a home-like stay in a vibrant neighborhood.
Balfour House
It's truly disappointing to see a property with heritage status allowed to deteriorate so badly. There are multiple holes in the roof, the yard and garden are completely neglected, and the surrounding area shows no signs of maintenance. Water pressure is weak, and the temperature control is inconsistent—during winter, the heating isn’t sufficient, making it necessary to wear a jacket just to stay warm. It’s clear the owners don’t care much about the property, let alone guest comfort. Yet they’re still happy to take your money. Avoid this place—your money would be better spent elsewhere. The condition is only going to get worse, and more complaints will follow. Eventually, the City of Vancouver may be forced to shut it down, which it absolutely should. This isn’t a proper B&B anymore—it’s a warning sign.
