Staying at New Hotel of Marseille was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the city center and close to metro access, making it easy to explore everything Marseille has to offer. The room was stylish, clean, and thoughtfully designed with modern touches that added to the comfort. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh, delicious, and varied, with local French pastries and high-quality ingredients. Even the bathroom amenities stood out, featuring premium skincare products that felt luxurious. Everything about this hotel, from the decor to the service, reflects attention to detail and quality. It’s rare to find such a well-rounded experience, and we’ll definitely be returning when we come back to Marseille.

The only downside? No on-site parking, which could be tricky if you’re arriving by car. Still, with such an incredible location, stunning views, and thoughtful touches throughout, this place is absolutely worth every penny.

When I arrived at the front desk at 11:45 AM to check out, the staff member there reacted coldly, scolding me for not checking out on time. He mentioned potential extra charges for staying past 12:00, though he eventually waived them—but his tone remained unfriendly. When I asked about my complimentary VIP drinks, instead of offering a simple explanation or a smile, he quickly scanned my card and pointed silently toward the bar with no courtesy. The stark contrast between the two interactions left me feeling uncomfortable and undervalued. A little kindness—a thank you, a smile, even a brief inquiry about how my stay was—could have made all the difference. It’s disappointing when such a great property is let down by a single negative interaction. Hope the team can work on consistency in guest service, because hospitality isn’t just about amenities—it’s about respect and human connection.

The high ceilings might feel a bit dramatic, but remember, we’re in one of the city’s most underserved neighborhoods—maybe even one of Europe’s poorest areas. Still, the atmosphere is peaceful, green, secure, and spotlessly clean. Meals are simple yet incredibly delicious, and the mix of guests from all over the world makes for a vibrant, welcoming vibe. Summer here is lively and full of energy—the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Don’t miss the bar: great cocktails, fun little shows, and those amazing waffles and snacks if you’re not quite hungry for a full meal. And seriously, don’t stay cooped up inside—grab a bus, explore the city, and soak up the endless sunshine Marseille is famous for. Plus, it’s literally steps away from Gare Saint Charles, making travel super easy. This place isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience.
