Staying at Mabrook Dormitory was a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is located right on a busy street, so you’ll hear traffic and see pedestrians passing by—definitely not the quietest spot, but it’s very convenient for exploring the area. A staff member even took me out to try what they claimed was an amazing local snack, but honestly, I found it just okay—not particularly memorable or impressive. Still, the dorm rooms themselves are clean, well-maintained, and comfortable enough for a budget-friendly stay. The location is great for getting around—just a short walk to the nearest metro station and close to many local eateries and attractions. It’s perfect for travelers who want to save money without sacrificing basic comfort and accessibility. While the surroundings aren’t silent, the value and convenience make up for it. I’d definitely consider returning if I’m back in Mumbai.

Upon arrival, I was assigned a bed that had clearly not been cleaned at all—definitely something I’ve never experienced before. But then again, it’s India, so I just let it slide. The hotel is quite far from major landmarks, requiring a decent commute to reach popular spots. That said, the overall atmosphere and staff service were acceptable for the price. It’s a solid choice if you're on a budget and looking to experience local vibes without breaking the bank. Just be prepared for some travel time between your stay and attractions.
Golden Chariot the Boutique Hotel, Andheri
My stay at Golden Chariot the Boutique Hotel, Andheri was just okay. When I arrived, the hotel wasn’t ready to accommodate the five guests I had booked for—thankfully they were willing to work it out later. However, one TV in the room didn’t work, which was a bit frustrating. The bathroom drainage also looked unclean and needed attention. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, but there were noticeable issues with basic amenities and cleanliness. If they improved maintenance and housekeeping standards, it could be a much better option.
Backpackers Villa Mumbai
We booked our room over a month in advance, but despite multiple attempts to contact the owner for confirmation, we received no response. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was extremely unfriendly. They took our passports, photographed them, and then took pictures of us without asking for consent—this made us feel very uncomfortable. The staff then called their boss, put me on the phone, and told me outright that they couldn’t provide us with a room and that there was nothing they could do to help. It was frustrating and unprofessional from start to finish. We were left stranded with no alternative accommodation arranged. This experience was far below expectations, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
