From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was immersed in a beautifully crafted Han-Tang dynasty atmosphere. The staff are not only professional but also genuinely warm and welcoming—the concierge, Chen Wei, stood out with his friendly demeanor and tall, approachable presence. He even handed me a traditional folding fan as a thoughtful gesture, which added such a poetic touch to the experience. What really stood out was their attention to detail: they proactively asked if I preferred a non-smoking floor, which made a huge difference for someone sensitive to odors. The location is unbeatable—right next to Sichuan University, with a lively hot pot restaurant just across the street. And yes, the live performances featuring stunningly dressed NPC actors throughout the lobby are absolutely worth experiencing—there’s real energy and cultural immersion here. Staying at Dading Century Hotel in Chengdu was an absolute breeze. Westcare Hotel (Chengdu South Railway Station)

Staying near Chengdu South Railway Station for an early train departure, I chose Westcare Hotel based on the metro route—it’s just under 10 minutes from the station. While it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station entrance to the hotel (crossing a few intersections with traffic lights), the walk is manageable and well-signed. The room was spacious with clean wooden flooring—very comfortable and welcoming. I booked without breakfast, but the front desk staff kindly offered a complimentary breakfast pack, which was a nice surprise. The lobby isn’t huge, but it feels cozy and well-maintained. Room amenities are excellent: full-sized fridge, microwave, washing machine, and even free laundry detergent—perfect for longer stays. The staff were friendly and proactively explained Wi-Fi access and breakfast timing. Breakfast is served on the floor above, so I grabbed a quick milk and two pastries before rushing out for my train. Overall, this hotel delivers great value, convenience, and warm hospitality. I’ll definitely come back if I visit Chengdu again.
