We stayed for three nights, and the location couldn’t be better: right next to Grand Central Terminal and just steps away from Fifth Avenue. Everything we wanted—dining, shopping, theaters—was within walking distance. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and staff are genuinely helpful. While the TV has limited channels, the ability to connect personal devices made it easy to stream content or even play Nintendo Switch late at night. Right across from Penn Station, you can catch trains to Newark Airport or even the Amtrak service heading to Toronto, which is a huge plus for travelers. I’ve seen previous reviews mentioning homeless people around the entrance, but during my stay, the area was clean and secure with no such issues. The staff were genuinely friendly—especially one African American front desk attendant who went above and beyond. When we asked for ice and hot water, he actually walked up to the kitchen on the higher floor to get them for us. On our early departure day, we missed breakfast, but he kindly let us know the restaurant had already opened so we could grab something before leaving. It’s clear that both white and Black staff members here are warm, attentive, and truly committed to guest comfort. Overall, this place offers excellent value and a welcoming atmosphere—you’ll feel at home from the moment you arrive.
