Big thanks! I stayed at a hostel for a few days before this, paying about the same price. But in that capsule-style room, there was barely enough space to turn around or stretch out. At Metallurg Hotel, I booked a room with three beds—so much space I could’ve played a quick game of football inside! It’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the metro, and there are plenty of shops nearby. Super convenient and totally worth it. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Moscow!

Stayed here for just one night during a quick transit through Moscow, and overall it was a solid choice. The location is excellent—super close to the metro, making it easy to get around the city. The room itself is small but cozy, clean, and well-maintained, with good value for the price. That said, there’s one big caveat: check-in after dark can be tricky if you don’t have internet access or a way to call the hotel. We arrived late at night—around 1 AM—and had no local SIM card or roaming, so we were completely offline. We’d already informed the hotel in advance about our late arrival and explained we wouldn’t be able to reach them directly. They assured us it wasn’t an issue. But when we showed up, no one answered the door, even after knocking and ringing for nearly ten minutes. Luckily, another guest saw us standing there and let us in. Inside, still no one picked up the phone—no reception, no answer. Eventually, we connected to the hotel Wi-Fi, found the front desk number on WhatsApp, messaged them, and only then did someone come down to hand over the key. It was stressful, especially since we only had a few hours before our train and wanted to rest in comfort. If you’re planning a late arrival, I’d strongly recommend having a local SIM or ensuring you can stay connected. Otherwise, you might end up doing your own version of a real-life check-in quest.
