The location is definitely a strong point—right in the heart of Union Square, making it super convenient for exploring downtown San Francisco. It’s also more affordable than most hotels in the area, which is a big plus. The front door is locked, and there are hallway cameras, so I felt safe during my stay. The bed was fine for a quick night’s sleep, and the bathroom looked newly renovated—clean and modern. That said, there were several issues that stood out. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, which was frustrating. The coffee/tea maker had a moldy tea bag inside—definitely not cleaned between stays. There was no bath mat in the bathroom, and the bathtub wouldn’t drain, even after leaving it overnight. The elevator felt like it came from another era—slow and creaky. When I checked out at 8 a.m., the front desk was completely empty, so I had to hunt for someone. I’d booked using my loyalty points, but the front desk agent tried to charge me $29 extra. To his credit, he called me back an hour later and admitted it was a mistake. Overall, this place works if you’re just passing through and don’t mind basic amenities. But if you value comfort, cleanliness, and reliability, you might want to look elsewhere.
