Happiness Hotel
I recently stayed at Happiness Hotel in Songshan, Taipei, and was genuinely impressed—this place offers incredible value for money. The hotel is just a short walk from Songshan MRT Station (exit 2), right next to the famous Raohe Street Night Market and Songshan Market. You’ll find endless dining options, shopping spots, and local vibes within easy reach—perfect for exploring on foot. While the exterior might look a bit dated, the room itself totally exceeded my expectations. Spacious, beautifully renovated with classic, elegant decor, featuring warm wooden flooring and tasteful furnishings. Every detail was thoughtfully included: air purifier, cozy seating area, side table, dehumidifier, hot water kettle, hangers, and hairdryer—all in top condition. The bathroom is stunning—luxurious marble tiling, a unique semi-circular design, full separation between wet and dry areas, and a generously sized shower stall with excellent water pressure. Hot water came instantly, making for a relaxing soak. (The steam sauna was under maintenance at the time, but honestly, it didn’t spoil the experience.) My view room offered breathtaking views of Taipei 101, especially magical during the evening when the city lights came on. The bed was incredibly comfortable—soft bedding and pillows, clean and cozy, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The room was quiet, well-insulated, and felt secure. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, keeping everything spotless each day. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and I especially appreciated the complimentary drinks, coffee, juice, cookies, and snacks available on the first floor—such a thoughtful touch. Overall, this hotel delivers outstanding value in Taipei. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a great stay without breaking the bank, this is definitely a top recommendation.

It didn’t ruin our mood at all; in fact, it just made us appreciate their professionalism even more. Staying at this hotel was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station, making it super convenient for getting around Taipei. The airport bus stop is also nearby, which made my arrival and departure smooth. Right outside the hotel, you’ve got Sogo Department Store, a popular spot for shopping, and just one block away, there’s a great variety of restaurants—including the famous Malatang spot. The room itself was spacious and very clean, with a nice, modern feel. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast—it was delicious and included a good mix of local favorites along with some snacks and drinks provided in-room, which showed real thoughtfulness. Everything about this stay felt thoughtful and well-organized. I’d definitely consider returning and would recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei.

The mattress was incredibly comfortable—so much so that I barely wanted to get out of bed 🥹. While the soundproofing isn’t perfect, it didn’t really affect my stay. The room was spotless and made me feel right at home. One big highlight? The free instant noodles and snacks on the first floor—such a thoughtful touch, especially after a long day of exploring. It’s a small thing, but it made a big difference. Location is excellent, just steps from the MRT, making it easy to get around Taipei. I’d definitely book again if I’m back in the city. One thing to note: if you're sensitive to noise, you might hear some singing from the downstairs karaoke bar before 10 PM. Also, the air conditioning in the room runs very cold—definitely turned it down a bit and used extra blankets, which thankfully were provided. Overall, this is a great value for the location and quality. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Taipei.

This trip to Asia included stays at other luxury hotels like Mandarin Oriental's counterparts, but none could match the exceptional experience at Mandarin Oriental Taipei. The room was immaculately clean and meticulously maintained; even my tangled data cable was neatly organized and secured with a hotel-provided tie. Daily water replenishment was prompt, and the nightly turndown service went above and beyond—my room was refreshed, essentials restocked, and everything put back just right. The location is fantastic: surrounded by excellent restaurants and easily accessible via public transit to major attractions. Every team member I interacted with showed genuine care and professionalism. It’s rare to find such consistent attention to detail and heartfelt hospitality. I can’t wait to return.
