I’d been wanting to stay at Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei for a while, mainly because my travel group consisted of three people who all wanted individual beds and a single room. I was a bit hesitant at first since most of the online reviews were from 2017–2018, but once I arrived, I completely changed my mind—this hotel exceeded all expectations. The ambiance is incredibly luxurious, and the overall quality is top-notch. The room was much bigger than the photos suggested, offering plenty of space and a really comfortable feel. From the moment we walked in, the bell staff and front desk team were welcoming and professional—every interaction was pleasant. The signature fragrance and premium toiletries added that extra touch of sophistication. Initially, I was disappointed to learn that none of the four-room options had views of Taipei 101 (which was part of our original shortlist), but after seeing the room in person, I didn’t care about the view at all—the condition, cleanliness, and comfort were just too good. During our 3-night stay, we only encountered one other Korean guest (in the elevator!), and the breakfast area and pool were mostly filled with European travelers, giving it a very international vibe. What stood out the most was how the hotel proactively sent us a confirmation email after booking to confirm our schedule—something many 5-star hotels don’t do. It made planning so much easier and gave me peace of mind. Overall, this trip was enjoyable and stress-free thanks to the excellent service. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.

The location is fantastic: surrounded by excellent restaurants and easily accessible via public transit to major attractions. Every team member I interacted with showed genuine care and professionalism. It’s rare to find such consistent attention to detail and heartfelt hospitality. I can’t wait to return.

The entire property is smoke-free, which contributes to a clean, peaceful atmosphere. I stayed in a south-facing room, and the natural light streaming in throughout the day was beautiful. The bed was firm, but surprisingly comfortable—I slept really well without any discomfort. The only minor note is that lighting in the elevator and hallway could be a bit brighter, but it’s a small detail in an otherwise outstanding stay. This hotel offers elegance, comfort, and excellent service at a great value. I’ll definitely be back.

Right across the street is JianGuo Flower Market, perfect for a relaxing stroll or picking up some fresh blooms. Unfortunately, it rained during my visit, so I missed trying out the pool—but it’s definitely on my list for next time. With such a great location, excellent amenities, and outstanding value, I’d absolutely book here again when I return to Taipei.

The hotel has a cozy coffee shop on the ground floor, ideal for a morning pick-me-up. Best of all, it’s just a short walk to Shilin Night Market—awesome for food lovers! The only downside is the distance to the MRT station (about 10 minutes brisk walk), but given how well-priced and convenient everything else is, I’d definitely stay here again. Great value for money!
