Staying at Hotel Leon d'Oro was an absolute delight from the moment we arrived. Best of all, it’s just a 10-minute walk to both the train station and bus terminal, making travel around the city super convenient. A truly special stay at Il Relais. Just four suites, but each one radiates the timeless charm and ambiance of the 1920s—elegant, refined, and utterly unique. The attention to detail is remarkable: from Etro toiletries to breakfast served on exquisite silverware, every element feels thoughtfully curated. Dining at the charming Locanda di Castelvecchio downstairs elevates the experience to something truly sublime. It’s not just a hotel—it’s an atmosphere, a moment, a memory. We stayed several nights in a family suite at this property and truly enjoyed our experience. I was initially hesitant due to the limited number of reviews, but it turns out the hotel is connected with a Best Western located just a few doors down—this is where we checked in and had breakfast each morning. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with plenty of space for our family. We chose this location because we had a few day trips planned, and it’s just a short walk to the train station. It’s positioned roughly halfway between Verona’s main tourist area and the station, which worked perfectly for us. That said, I’m giving it four stars only because the price during our Christmas visit was extremely high—higher than what we paid for a stay at the Waldorf in Rome! If rates had been more reasonable, this place would have easily earned five stars. Despite that, I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a convenient, comfortable base in Verona.
Best Western Plus Hotel de Capuleti
Stayed for three nights and overall experience was excellent! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. There was one day when housekeeping forgot to clean the room, but instead of just a simple apology, the hotel generously offered a complimentary breakfast for the next day. To our surprise, upon checkout, we found that all three breakfasts had been waived! That was such a pleasant surprise—definitely above and beyond. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the city center, and everything about the stay felt thoughtfully managed. I’d definitely return and recommend this place to anyone visiting Verona.

I always stay at Hotel Piccolo whenever I visit Verona—either here or at Martini, or the slightly more upscale Guesthouse. I’ve never been disappointed. The rooms are simple but perfectly equipped with everything you need: comfy beds, quiet surroundings, and a great breakfast that sets the tone for the day. What really stands out is the location—just a short walk from the city center and right next to the Arena. It’s unbeatable for exploring the historic heart of Verona without having to deal with long commutes. Clean, friendly, and consistently excellent service. This place has become my go-to choice every time I’m in town.
Fiore di Loto
Our stay at Fiore di Loto was absolutely disappointing and ruined our entire trip to Verona. We arrived at 6:15 PM, right on time according to the check-in window, but there was no one at the front desk—no staff, no response on the phone. After waiting nearly 45 minutes, someone finally answered, and instead of apologizing, they actually laughed at us for being late. That’s not just unprofessional—it’s unacceptable. The hotel still requires in-person check-in in 2024, with no self-check-in options or keyless entry systems, which is surprising given how common those are now. We were trying to make it to the Arena di Verona on time, but this delay caused us to miss part of our plans. The atmosphere was far from peaceful or serene—more like indifferent and chaotic. There’s nothing zen about this place. Poor communication, lack of basic hospitality, and a complete absence of operational efficiency. If you’re looking for a quiet, thoughtful retreat, avoid this property. It’s not worth it.

After this experience, Hotel Siros has become our go-to choice whenever we visit Verona. It’s now our preferred place to stay, and we’ll definitely be back.
