I've stayed in many places across Manchester over the past 15 years, and this one truly stands out as the best by far. I genuinely wish I'd discovered it sooner! The value for money is exceptional—every aspect of the stay exceeded my expectations. Located right in the heart of the city, it's surrounded by fantastic amenities, from lively bars to great restaurants, all within walking distance. Public transport links are excellent too—Manchester Victoria and Piccadilly stations are just a short walk away, making day trips to places like Trafford Centre or exploring other parts of the North West incredibly easy. The apartment itself was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a super comfortable bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. The room was completely quiet, which was perfect after a long day. The bathroom and kitchen were both top-notch—plenty of utensils and appliances, so cooking during my stay was a breeze. Even better, the staff were warm, welcoming, and created a friendly, almost family-like atmosphere that made the whole experience feel special. Staying at Mitre Hotel Manchester City Centre was a great experience. Located right across from Manchester Cathedral in a pedestrian-only zone, taxis can only reach the back lane, but that didn’t affect my convenience much. The hotel is just steps away from Arndale Centre, so shopping is super easy. I booked a single ensuite room—small but spotlessly clean. No elevator, and I was on the second floor, but the staff were incredibly helpful with my large suitcase. The layout of the rooms felt a bit maze-like, which made navigation a little tricky at first. Breakfast was outstanding—huge variety, buffet-style with the option to order cooked breakfast. It was very reasonably priced and offered excellent value. There’s also a bar serving meals, and they occasionally host entertainment on certain nights. Overall, this place is a hidden gem in the heart of Manchester.

I stayed at Fairways Lodge & Leisure Club for a family gathering, and the experience was truly enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Our first room was acceptable, but being on the ground floor, it had decorative window bars—which made me feel a bit claustrophobic. No worries though; the hotel quickly offered us another room, which was fantastic: crisp white bedding, a spacious wet room, and a nice grey carpet that added a touch of modern elegance. The only minor note is that the room was right off the reception area, so there was some noise when we first went to bed—though this came from other guests, not the hotel itself. Breakfast was outstanding—plentiful and delicious! We had two sausages, two eggs, black pudding, a hash brown, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, plus toast. The only slightly odd thing was that tea and coffee weren’t included in the breakfast and had to be paid extra. Still, considering everything else, the value for money was excellent. I’d definitely stay here again. One small suggestion: some corridor carpets could use replacing, but since I only experienced the rooms I was assigned, I can only speak from my own perspective. Overall, a very pleasant and well-run place.
OYO Cheetham Hill Guest House
I had to cancel my booking at the last minute due to illness, and unfortunately, the customer service team was slow to respond despite contacting them four times. That said, I still appreciate the overall experience and would consider staying here again in the future. The location is convenient—just a short metro ride into Manchester city center—and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The property offers good value for money, and I’m hopeful that future stays will be smoother, especially with better communication during cancellations.

Honestly, this was one of the worst stays I've ever had. The apartment was in terrible condition—the mattress was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on, like sleeping on a pile of rocks. The closet was overflowing with dirty linens and towels, and the freezer was completely iced over, making the door impossible to close. There were visible stains on the sofa, and the bathroom door handle literally came off in my hand. Even the bedroom power socket felt unsafe to use. For £200 a night? That’s just ridiculous. The quality didn’t come close to matching the price. If you're looking for a decent stay in Manchester, avoid this place—there are far better options out there.
