Grand Hyatt Changsha
Staying at Grand Hyatt Changsha was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location is unbeatable—everything we wanted to see was either a short subway ride away or just a quick walk. We easily reached Yuelu Mountain and Orange Isle by metro, while Du Fu's Pavilion was literally across the street. It only took about 20 minutes to get to East Square, making it perfect for exploring the city without hassle. Around the hotel, there’s no shortage of great food and shopping—two convenient Haidilao locations within walking distance, and even Cha Yan Yue Se was just steps away. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with a calm, elegant atmosphere. Every staff member we met was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. Special thanks to Tina Yu Ting from the Guest Services Lounge who made our check-in experience so smooth—she was especially attentive to our elderly family members and our kids, even gifting them little welcome treats. Our riverside room offered stunning views, and the natural light flooded in during the day, making every moment feel special. There’s also a unique collaboration store with the Provincial Museum—my kids loved browsing through the themed souvenirs, which were reasonably priced and perfect as gifts. The pool temperature was ideal for children, and they had a blast playing around. Breakfast was fantastic too—diverse options that catered to all tastes, with a strong focus on healthy eating. Unfortunately, due to our packed itinerary, we didn’t get to try the hotel’s dining venues beyond a lovely afternoon tea and a satisfying evening buffet. Still, the overall experience was outstanding. If we ever return to Changsha, this will be our first choice again.

The breakfast spread was impressive, with a wide variety of options and good quality across the board. I was pleasantly upgraded to a higher room category and even received a late check-out until 2 PM—such a nice touch! The only minor downside was that the room felt a bit stuffy and warm, possibly due to the air conditioning being set too high. Also, no spa or wellness center on-site, which would’ve been a great addition. But overall, this is an exceptional stay with outstanding service and value. I’d definitely return and recommend it to others.

While there are some buildings blocking the full panorama, the overall scenery still feels open and pleasant, especially during daylight hours. The breakfast buffet was generous and well-stocked—everything you could want was available, and it felt truly free-flowing and satisfying. Located just steps from Liugouyu Metro Station, getting around downtown Changsha is super convenient. I’d definitely recommend this place to friends and will be back myself soon.
