Torres del Lago Apartamentos
I wouldn't recommend this property. While the location in Cartagena is convenient—close to downtown and easy to get around by public transit—the actual condition of the apartment was far from what we expected. The unit felt dirty and poorly maintained, with visible dust and grime in corners and crevices. To our horror, there were cockroaches everywhere—under the sink, in the kitchen, even near the bed. The appliances shown in the photos didn’t work at all: the air conditioner was broken, the stove wouldn’t ignite, and the fridge barely cooled. It’s clear the listing photos are misleading. We ended up spending more time fixing issues than enjoying our stay. For a better experience, I’d suggest looking elsewhere—there are definitely much cleaner, more reliable options in the area.

Townhouse Boutique Hotel
We stayed at Townhouse Boutique Hotel for four nights with our two kids and couldn’t be more pleased. Our suite was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated—exactly what we were hoping for. We especially loved the included breakfast each morning; it was fresh, well-prepared, and perfect for a family start to the day. The rooftop terrace offered stunning views, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the afternoon with the kids. While the pool is on the smaller side, it’s ideal for little ones and very safe. There was some construction noise from the room above us early in the stay, but after we messaged the hotel via WhatsApp, the disturbance stopped almost immediately—possibly due to their quick response. Street noise was minimal and never an issue. One highlight was the complimentary day pass to Apple Beach Hotel, which made for a memorable and enjoyable outing. Overall, this hotel is a fantastic choice for families. The service, location, and amenities all exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Mamá Carmen, I already miss her. She takes care of cooking and cleaning throughout the house, and her culinary skills are impressive—she prepares a wide variety of authentic Colombian dishes with real passion. She’s also an excellent local guide, offering great tips on where to go and what to see. Down-to-earth, warm-hearted, and genuinely motherly, she made us feel right at home. The house itself is fantastic—five well-maintained rooms, though the 'king' bed was actually two twin beds pushed together (minor detail, but worth noting). There’s a pool and a hot tub; the pool water was cool, which felt refreshing after a long day in the sun. The jacuzzi didn’t heat up fully during our stay, but it was still pleasantly warm and perfect for unwinding under the tropical sky. Overall, this place offers more than just a room—it delivers a heartfelt experience. A true gem in Cartagena, highly recommended.
