The staff are exceptional from check-in to check-out; Kadosh and Taisa stood out with their genuine care and attention. The founder, Dany—a French visual artist—infuses every corner with her creative spirit, making the entire place feel like a living art piece. I stayed in the pink room, which was spacious, cozy, and incredibly welcoming. It's rare to find such charm, comfort, and personal touch in one place. This isn't just a hotel—it’s an experience. Grateful for the unforgettable memories.

Ipanema Inn Hotel
Staying at Ipanema Inn was a great experience overall, especially given its prime location just across the street from Ipanema Beach—walking to the sand is effortless. The free beach towels and chairs are a nice touch, making beach days even more convenient. The on-site restaurant delivers solid food quality with a welcoming vibe. While the room is compact, it’s clean and well-maintained. That said, the street noise can be intense, especially with ongoing construction nearby—something to consider if you’re sensitive to sound. The air conditioning drips water, and the shower setup isn’t the most user-friendly. The bed was also quite firm, which might not suit everyone. However, the highlight of our stay was the rooftop spa at their sister property in Arpoador. We had an incredible massage there—relaxing, professional, and worth every minute. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our three-night stay and would definitely return for the location and the exceptional spa experience.

Staying at El Misti Hostel Ipanema was an absolute highlight of my trip to Rio de Janeiro! The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by great cafes, restaurants, and local vibes. The hostel itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to help with recommendations and check-in was smooth and quick. My room was cozy, the bedding was comfortable, and the free Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Everything about this place felt thoughtfully designed for travelers who want a relaxed, authentic experience without breaking the bank. It’s rare to find such a high-quality stay at this price point. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Unfortunately, my experience was quite negative due to the lack of signage and lighting in the backyard, making the area extremely unsafe for elderly guests and children. I didn’t stay overnight—I only booked a day-use option through the platform for my birthday celebration and that of a close friend. As shown in photo 20, there’s a gap beside the staircase leading down to the yard, which becomes completely invisible at night because there’s no lighting in the area. While descending the stairs, I tripped over the gap and hit my head on a stone, resulting in six stitches above my eyebrow. To clarify—no alcohol was consumed during this incident. This could have easily turned into a much more serious accident. I reported the issue to the couple managing the booking, but they showed no intention to address or fix the hazard. Aside from that, there’s nothing else to comment on since I didn’t actually stay overnight. My only warning to future guests: this property is not recommended for families with young children or older adults due to the significant safety risks.

The daily housekeeping service kept everything spotless throughout my stay, and the kitchen had all the essentials I needed for simple meals. Clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped—it felt like home. If you're looking for comfort, convenience, and a great location in Rio, this place is a top choice.

The building staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. From check-in to checkout, they made sure everything ran smoothly and went the extra mile to assist us. Marcos speaks fluent English and shared invaluable local insights, from hidden gem restaurants and must-visit attractions to areas to avoid for safety reasons. Their knowledge of the city made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. We felt truly cared for throughout our visit, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly. If we ever return to Rio, we’d choose them without hesitation.
