Staying at this hotel was a great way to explore Cologne. The price was fair, the location was excellent—just steps from trams and buses—and the staff provided very friendly service. One thing to note: there’s no air conditioning in the rooms, but it didn’t affect our comfort at all. If you prefer sleeping with the window open, ask for a room facing the back side of the building, as the front-facing ones can be noisy due to street traffic. Our stay at Kaiser Am Wiener Platz was disappointing overall. We waited a full 45 minutes for check-in despite being told it would only take 15 minutes—this was misleading and frustrating.
