A 30-minute bus ride takes you to the lively heart of Rhodes town, while a scenic 3.5-hour walk (or a 20-minute bus ride) leads up to the hilltop village of Ialisos, where you can explore the well-preserved 13th-century Castle of the Knights. There’s even a charming café nearby where you can sip coffee under a tamarind tree surrounded by peacocks and goats – pure magic. Rooms are modest in size but perfectly adequate for rest and recovery. The only minor drawback is the occasional noise from passing planes due to proximity to the airport, but after just two days, we’d completely tuned it out.
