We booked The Marley because the photos looked really cool — and the mid-century modern design does stand out. Our room (Room 4) was a decent size, but the back patio was surprisingly dirty and not well maintained. The shower was a major letdown — we only got about two and a half minutes of hot water before it turned cold, which made for an uncomfortable experience. What really stood out was how remote the check-in process was: everything happened via text messages. We received gate and room access codes, but couldn’t enter until 4 PM. I’ve visited Palm Springs over 30 times before, and I’ve always been able to use the pool early — not here. I spent nearly three hours sending back-and-forth texts trying to get permission, only to be met with delays. I also sent messages about service issues and questions, some going unanswered for up to six hours, even though the initial reply said they’d respond right away. The pool itself was warm and pleasant, but the glass tiling in several areas was deteriorating — pieces were loose and falling off, which raised safety concerns. While the property has a unique aesthetic, the lack of on-site support, poor maintenance, and frustrating communication make the overall experience far below expectations.
