Staying at Bamboo Rio Hostel was one of the best decisions I made during my trip to Rio de Janeiro. Located just a short walk from Copacabana Beach, it’s perfectly positioned for exploring the vibrant neighborhood. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming—natural bamboo decor gives the place a peaceful, eco-friendly vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great local tips and even assisting with transportation arrangements. My room was compact but clean, well-maintained, and had excellent air conditioning. I slept like a baby every night. What really stood out was the value—affordable price, high comfort, and genuine hospitality. We stayed here for seven nights and it was flawless from start to finish. We booked both a private room and a shared dorm, and every experience was excellent. The rooms and common areas were always spotlessly clean—really pleasant to be in. Hot water was available every single night, which is a big plus. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming with constant smiles. We absolutely loved spending our week here! The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk to the metro station. Being right in the heart of the city makes getting around effortless, whether you're heading into the downtown area or the beaches (by car or bike). The photos on the website are completely accurate—no exaggeration at all. This place truly delivers on everything it promises. A top choice for travelers looking for comfort, cleanliness, and great value.
Tupiniquim Hostel Rio de Janeiro
The hostel is conveniently located near the metro, making it easy to get around Rio. However, the staff experience was extremely disappointing. We had to ask permission every time we wanted to store or retrieve items from the shared fridge—repeated requests made it incredibly inconvenient. In the morning, we needed our breakfast supplies right away, but were forced to wait two hours because the owner refused to let us access our things until the cleaner arrived, even though it was just one floor up. When I went to get my stuff, the owner became angry, yelled at me, and used a disrespectful term I won’t repeat. At that point, we left immediately. While the location is good and prices are reasonable, the lack of basic respect and poor communication completely ruined our stay. Not worth it.

Absolutely stunning location right by the sea—calm, safe, and incredibly welcoming. Staying with the lovely Lucia was one of the best decisions I made during my trip to Rio. The breakfast is fantastic—fresh, generous, and delicious. Plus, it’s super easy to get around Rio from here: just a short walk or quick ride to beaches, attractions, and vibrant neighborhoods. And don’t miss hearing about Joanna—the turtle who lives nearby! It’s such a fun little story that adds character to the whole experience. If you’re looking for an authentic, warm, and memorable stay in Rio, this place is a must-book. Highly recommend!

The location is perfect for exploring Rio, especially starting from Santa Teresa. You can walk or hop on a quick metro ride to reach various neighborhoods. And the view? Absolutely breathtaking—Rio spreads out before you like a postcard. It’s not just a place to sleep; it’s an experience. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for authenticity, comfort, and heartwarming moments.

The hostel has a spacious and welcoming vibe with plenty of room to relax and socialize. The double room was nicely decorated and made for a comfortable stay. However, I'm disappointed with the lack of communication and refund after canceling my booking—despite promises, I waited over three months with no response or resolution. It's also worth noting that safety concerns mean you’ll need to rely on Uber to get around at night, which adds extra cost and inconvenience. While the location and atmosphere are decent, poor customer service significantly impacts the overall experience.

This place is absolutely stunning! The Da Lapa Design Hotel - Hostel has a fresh, modern vibe with brand-new facilities throughout. My Junior Suite felt like a mini apartment—complete with a fridge, cooktop, and all the kitchen essentials. It’s perfect for travelers who want to prepare their own meals. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Luciano at reception—he went above and beyond to help. I’d highly recommend this spot for solo female travelers; it feels safe with plenty of security cameras in common areas. Right on the street, you’ve got a grocery store, a bakery, and within just 80 meters, there’s a bar (Bar da Lapa), subway station, burger joint, and two restaurants—great for exploring without walking far. The only downside? It gets pretty lively and noisy starting Wednesday night due to the nearby bars. But overall, the location, comfort, and atmosphere make up for it. A top choice if you're looking for style, convenience, and a welcoming vibe in Rio.
