I first discovered this gem on Xiaohongshu and ended up booking through the platform for a 3-night stay—so glad I did! The Heritage Wing Suite offered incredible perks: three restaurants—Palm Court (Heritage Wing), Planters Lounge, and Sarkies—perfectly matched to my breakfast needs over three days. I also enjoyed unlimited access to both the Victory Wing and Heritage Wing infinity pools. Afternoon tea was complimentary from 12–6 PM, followed by cocktail hour from 6–7 PM—such a lovely touch. The in-room mini-fridge was fully stocked with 10 free drinks daily, plus one bottle of wine. Housekeeping came twice daily—morning and afternoon—for a consistently clean space. The only minor issue was a slight musty smell upon arrival, but it disappeared within a few days. With so many stunning photo spots—definitely more than 20—I couldn’t stop taking pictures. This hotel is a true visual delight and an absolute highlight of my trip.

I booked a triple room, and while the room faces the street—which means traffic noise and early morning prayer announcements can be loud—I’d still highly recommend it. The pros far outweigh the minor cons. The tap water is safe to drink straight from the faucet, which is rare and impressive. The bathroom is spacious with a lovely bathtub, and the minibar even came with two complimentary drinks—such a nice touch! The staff, including the Chinese-speaking team, were friendly, helpful, and made me feel right at home. Even though there’s some street noise, it’s a small price to pay for such a well-located, stylish, and thoughtfully designed stay. A truly memorable experience—definitely worth returning.

For sightseeing, hopping on a trishaw to Sungai Pijer Bridge takes less than 10 minutes by car, or you can walk there in about 15 minutes—perfect for exploring the city’s charm. Everything is so convenient, and the value for money is outstanding. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a great base for discovering George Town. I’ll definitely be back.

We arrived early—well before check-in time—and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in right away. The front desk even handed us chilled juice as a welcome gesture, which added a lovely touch. Located just minutes from the city center, it’s super convenient for exploring George Town via public transit. The local durian is an absolute must-try—rich, creamy, and unforgettable. This hotel offers great value and experience, and I’d definitely return.
Cheong Fatt Tze - the Blue Mansion
藍屋真係完全超出我嘅期待！今次去檳城，住過幾間五星級酒店，但張弼士故居酒店－藍房絕對係最滿意的一間。之前睇評論先入為主覺得老建築有陰氣、附近酒館唱到凌晨，其實完全唔使擔心——我們入住期間冇半點異樣感覺，雖然酒館確係唱到十二點，但家人同我都唔會受影響，而且酒店仲免費提供耳塞（雖然我哋都冇用），根本冇造成任何滋擾。 地理位置超級方便，去藝術街、莫定標、愛情巷、Badjenid 都走幾分鐘就到，沿途仲可以欣賞多不勝數嘅壁畫、老式招牌同建築，好有氛圍。打車去三條路、First Avenue、Penang Road 亦只消五分鐘，交通極之便捷。 我最鍾意三樣：第一，酒店本身設計超美，靛藍外牆吸睛爆燈，中庭、樓梯、側院都適合拍照，尤其訪客只能喺11am至6pm參觀，其他時間你可以放心瘋狂打卡，完全唔使尷尬；第二，浴室設計太讚了，黑白瓷磚配搭簡約又高級，我連喺度拍咗一組照片，實在愛到不得了。第三，設施齊備又新穎，唔似一般古蹟酒店就忽略舒適度。我哋個廁所乾淨到令我驚訝，連潔癖人士都啱啱啱。電視同藍牙音響都可以連手機，下午瞓覺時聽陶喆重編版《流沙》，心靜又感動。門口保安非常負責，嚴格查證出入人員，主動幫搬行李，笑容滿面，安全感十足。早餐亦唔錯，有自助部分，仲有自煮叻沙可選，仲有每日不同主廚菜單，每位住客可選一道，喺中庭食飯簡直浪漫到爆😍

It’s been years since our last visit to Penang, and this was our first time staying at Berjaya Penang Hotel—truly a delightful surprise. We were on the 24th floor, and the room was spacious with an incredible view of George Town that made every moment feel special. The space felt open and well-designed, and everything was spotlessly clean, from the shower to the bathroom. The morning breakfast was satisfying—not overly extravagant, but with a good variety of items that hit the mark for a solid start to the day. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations. From the comfort to the location, it’s clear this hotel offers excellent value. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Penang.

One small note: the parking entrance can be tricky to spot—it’s tucked under a shop house pillar with a large 'Honda' sign on the side wall, so keep an eye out. I highly recommend walking over to Red Garden Food Court. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and there’s often live music or performances going on—perfect for a relaxed evening out. Overall, this stay was top-notch, and the little details like the helpful staff and easy access to local gems really make it stand out.
