Staying at the AT&T Hotel & Conference Center located right on the University of Texas at Austin campus was a wonderful experience. The quiet, peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a true retreat, yet everything I needed was just a short walk away—dining spots, shopping areas, and popular attractions were all easily accessible. The location is unbeatable, nestled in the heart of campus with plenty of greenery and a calm vibe. Parking costs $21, which is a bit steep, but given how convenient the spot is and how close it is to everything, it's totally justified. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations—highly recommend for anyone visiting Austin, especially students, travelers, or business guests looking for a serene yet central base.

Carolyn at the front desk helped me navigate the platform’s check-in system, making my room switch seamless and stress-free. The pool area is absolutely fantastic—relaxing, well-maintained, and perfect for unwinding. We’ve been coming back to Hotel Ella ever since we could travel again after the pandemic, and it still feels like home. There’s a real sense of warmth and hospitality here that’s hard to find elsewhere. Thank you for such a welcoming stay—we’ll definitely be back.

I stayed for three nights and couldn’t be happier with my experience! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained—perfect for a quick getaway. Located just minutes from downtown Austin, I had easy access to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The staff went above and beyond with their friendliness and helpfulness—always smiling, ready to assist, and making me feel welcome. It’s rare to find such a welcoming atmosphere at a budget-friendly hotel, and I truly appreciate the attention to detail. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Austin.
Scottish Inns Austin Downtown
Our stay at Scottish Inns Austin Downtown was disappointing, to say the least. We were shocked to find numerous baby roaches in the bathroom—definitely not what you expect from a hotel. The sink had major drainage issues; as soon as we turned on the water, it started flooding within seconds. The bathtub floor was cracked in several places, and the shower curtain rod was half broken, making it impossible to keep the curtain closed. Water constantly spilled onto the floor, creating a slippery mess. The sheets and blankets were in terrible condition—covered in small burn marks and tears, clearly showing years of neglect. There were also multiple poorly patched areas on the walls, indicating past damage that was never properly repaired. Overall, the room felt extremely run-down. It was only barely worth the low rate we paid. If we’d known about the condition beforehand, we definitely would’ve chosen a different place. For travelers looking for cleanliness and comfort, this property isn’t recommended.

The only minor downside was limited parking on the side of the building where my room was located, but it wasn’t a big issue given how close the hotel is to the university area.
