The breakfast was absolutely fantastic—plenty of options ranging from fresh pastries and local sausages to a variety of fruits and freshly brewed coffee. The room was clean, bright, and incredibly comfortable, with excellent natural light flooding in each morning. It felt like a peaceful retreat after a long day exploring the city. Location-wise, it’s just a short metro ride from downtown Düsseldorf, making it super convenient for shopping, sightseeing, or attending events. With such a great balance of comfort, service, and value, this hotel is definitely a top choice for any visit to Düsseldorf. I’ll be coming back.
The Wellem Residences
The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the metro, the old town, and plenty of great restaurants. Public transport access is super convenient, making it easy to explore the city. However, the front desk service was disappointing. The concierge didn’t know how to enter our building tower and kept walking us back and forth trying different doors with his key card. Worse, he didn’t hand over our room access cards right away. We had to go back to the front desk to request them, but no one could assist at the time. We were told they’d be delivered to our room, but that never happened. We had to ask again the next morning before finally getting them. We also had a kitchen, but it came with almost zero cooking essentials—no pots, pans, spoons, or basic utensils. After asking for help, we had to go back to the front desk ourselves just to get someone to deliver the basics so we could cook dinner. On check-out, I requested a printed summary for expense claims. The front desk agent didn’t know how to print it, and when I asked for an email copy, he didn’t know how to do that either. It took until the next day for the manager to handle it. This wasn’t just a one-off issue—it reflected a pattern of underwhelming service. For the price of a 5-star property, I expected much better. The experience simply didn’t match the standard I’d expect.

Inside the room: a mini bottle of water, two Nespresso pods, two tea bags daily, plus a fridge, safe, and air conditioning. The room is compact but perfectly functional for a good night’s sleep. Staff are friendly and attentive—the moment we mentioned an annoying neighbor on day two, they promptly arranged a room change without hesitation. Overall, the value for money is outstanding. It’s also fairly close to the airport, but if you’re planning to take the S-bahn, be aware that some trains may be canceled unexpectedly—on my trip, I waited quite a while for one that never showed up, nearly missing my flight. I ended up taking an Uber instead, so I’d recommend allowing extra time just in case. Despite that hiccup, the hotel itself exceeded expectations. Great value, clean, comfortable, and well-located for travelers needing a reliable base near transport links. Definitely a place I’d book again.
