We spent two nights at Samode Haveli, a stunning former haveli transformed into a luxury hotel nestled right in the heart of Jaipur’s old city. The central courtyard is a true highlight—home to a charming bar, the reception area, and a few boutique shops that add a touch of local flair. Despite being in downtown Jaipur, the hotel feels remarkably peaceful, with only a slight buzz when visiting the rooftop bar, which offers panoramic views of the city skyline—perfect for sunset drinks. The welcome was warm and professional, complete with a refreshing welcome drink, just like every other hotel we stayed at during our Rajasthan journey. The lobby is absolutely magnificent, blending original palace features—like intricately carved walls and ceilings—with colonial-era furnishings that create a timeless elegance. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed, overlooking either a lush garden or a quiet inner courtyard depending on the category. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the decor struck the perfect balance between traditional Indian craftsmanship and modern luxury. Bathrooms were generous in size, featuring both a soaking tub and an Italian-style shower, along with high-quality toiletries and exceptionally soft, plush towels. Evening service was thoughtfully provided, and the restaurant delivered on all fronts—indoor dining and a lovely terrace overlooking a tranquil garden. Breakfast was a generous buffet plus à la carte options, full of variety and flavor. Dinner offered a diverse menu spanning Indian, Asian, and Western dishes, all prepared with care and excellent quality. Prices are understandably higher for this destination, but they feel fair for European travelers seeking a premium experience. Additional amenities include a gorgeous swimming pool, a well-equipped gym, and a spa—though we didn’t get to try the treatments, the ambiance alone made it worth noting. This was an absolutely terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. I had fully paid for a three-night stay in advance and tried repeatedly to contact the hotel via email and phone to inform them about my late check-in plans—but received no response at all. The property claims to have 24-hour front desk service, yet when I arrived at around midnight, I was denied check-in. Staff barely stirred from their mats where they were sleeping and told me the rooms were already full—and someone else had already been checked into my room! As a result, I spent two hours wandering through an unfamiliar city at night trying to find another place to stay. It was exhausting and incredibly stressful. To make matters worse, the actual hotel and lobby look nothing like the photos online—way more run-down and poorly maintained. The reality is far worse than the listing suggests. If you're looking for a safe, reliable place to stay in Jaipur, avoid this one at all costs.

My stay at Hotel Welcome in Jaipur was an absolute disappointment. For two full days, there was no working TV in the room—very frustrating. Only one towel was provided for two guests, which was completely inadequate. Even worse, there’s no parking space at the hotel, making it extremely inconvenient if you’re arriving by car. The overall experience fell far below expectations, especially given the price. Basic amenities were missing, and the staff didn’t seem to care about guest comfort. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent, hassle-free stay.
