Staying at Holiday Inn Shanghai Nanjing Road was an absolute delight! The staff, especially Violet and Leo at the front desk, were incredibly warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. From check-in to check-out, their professionalism and kindness made us feel truly welcomed. The room was spotless, quiet, and comfortably furnished—perfect for a relaxing stay after a day exploring the city. The location is unbeatable: stepping out the window, you’re greeted by the vibrant energy of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, with its dazzling lights and bustling atmosphere. We visited during New Year’s Day, and the festive vibe added extra magic to the experience. This hotel offers excellent value and convenience in one of Shanghai’s most iconic areas. I’d absolutely choose this property again on any future trip to Shanghai.

I’m a big fan of classic five-star hotels and government guesthouses—mainly because of the great service, excellent location, and peace of mind when it comes to privacy (no need to worry about hidden cameras in the room!). Plus, they often offer better value than luxury chains. This stay at JinLing Purple Mountain Hotel Shanghai was no exception. Located just steps from Lujiazui, my room on the 41st floor offered stunning high-floor views. While not quite a skyline-level perspective, the cityscape below is still impressive, especially at night. The nearest subway line 2 is a 7–8 minute walk away—super convenient since this line connects both Pudong and Hongqiao airports. You can also easily reach major attractions like Jing’an Temple, Zhongshan Park, Nanjing West Road, and People’s Square. Getting to the Shanghai Museum East Wing is a breeze too—just a 3-minute walk to the bus stop, and you’re there in two or three stops. Much faster than transferring via metro. Cleanliness was top-notch. The entire room had carpeting but no unpleasant odors, and everything looked spotless with zero stains. One thing I appreciate in older five-stars is that they’ve upgraded bathrooms properly—this one features a separate shower area, not just a bathtub you have to stand in. There’s even a curtain for privacy on the outer side of the bathroom, which makes sharing the space much more comfortable for multiple guests. The hairdryer may not be branded, but it works surprisingly well—strong yet gentle airflow. I tested it by washing my hair, and it dried quickly without being harsh. The amenities are thoughtfully placed. The brand is Baizhaoji, which has decent scent and texture, though not exceptional. If you’re not satisfied, staff will gladly swap it out for a travel-sized alternative. And yes—the little horse plush toy in the room is actually yours to take home! Adorable. Staff were attentive and proactive. Housekeeping ladies greeted me warmly and offered help carrying luggage straight to the elevator—no need to carry anything heavy around. They even left a boxed carton of Mengniu milk at bedtime. Not fancy, but thoughtful. The late-night porridge service ends at 11 PM—I came back later and missed it, so I’ll definitely try it next time. Breakfast is served until 10 AM (until 10:30 on weekends), and staff remind you before closing. Don’t linger past the cutoff! The spread includes many local favorites: fresh steamed buns, handmade yangchun noodles, small wontons, salty tofu pudding, soy milk, and various pastries. But here’s the issue—there’s way too much carbs (buns, breads, noodles) and very little protein. Cold cuts include only fish—no beef, no chicken. The Western pastry section feels underwhelming: limited variety, and most puff pastries are soggy instead of crisp. I saw a few foreign guests eating only Western options—wonder if they found it satisfying. The homemade yogurt is excellent—plain version is rich and creamy; strawberry flavor leans heavily on artificial sweetness. The tea eggs lack depth in taste. However, the yangchun noodles and tofu pudding? Absolutely delicious. Overall, this hotel delivers strong value for money, great comfort, and genuine hospitality. With a few tweaks—especially adding more protein-rich breakfast items—it could be perfect. Would definitely stay again.

This stay was absolutely perfect—truly deserving of a full 10/10. From check-in to checkout, the staff went above and beyond with genuine care and attention. The front desk team upgraded my room without any extra charge, and the in-house concierge even shared personalized recommendations for local attractions—super helpful! I was also surprised and touched by a complimentary bottle of mineral water upon departure. My riverside room offered breathtaking views—waking up to sunrise through the window was magical, and the quiet atmosphere made for an incredibly restful night’s sleep. Cleanliness was top-notch; I walked barefoot across the floor and felt completely at ease. Yes, the price is on the higher side, but every little detail reflects thoughtfulness and quality. It’s not just a hotel—it’s a memorable experience that absolutely lives up to the cost.

Staying at Shanghai Baoan Hotel was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—just a 7-8 minute walk from Century Avenue Metro Station, making it super convenient for getting around Shanghai, whether you're heading to the city center, Pudong Airport, or just exploring nearby attractions. The surrounding area features Century Square Mall, where dining, shopping, and entertainment are all within easy reach. I was especially impressed by Owen at the front desk—he went above and beyond with his warm, professional service, offering thoughtful recommendations on sightseeing spots and local transit options. The breakfast spread was generous and varied, with plenty of choices to suit different tastes. While the room showed a bit of age in its decor, the furnishings were functional, clean, and well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, this hotel delivers excellent value for money. If you're visiting Shanghai, I highly recommend considering this gem—it’s a perfect balance of convenience, comfort, and great service.

Staying at Cheng Man, a boutique hotel in the Huangpu Riverside area of Shanghai, was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff were warm and attentive—check-in was smooth and genuinely personalized. They even offered a homemade drink in the evening, which added such a thoughtful touch. The location is perfect: just steps from the metro station, making it super convenient to explore downtown or take in the scenic views along the Huangpu River. The surrounding area is quiet yet vibrant, with plenty of dining options nearby. My room was spotless—no odors whatsoever—and incredibly peaceful, with minimal noise from outside. The modern amenities and bright, well-designed lighting gave it a sleek business-chic vibe that felt both comfortable and sophisticated. What stood out most was the spacious layout; the room felt significantly larger than similar-priced hotels like Qianti or Yaduo, offering better value for money. With excellent cleanliness, smart design, top-tier convenience, and a serene atmosphere, this stay exceeded all expectations. If you're visiting Shanghai, this hotel is absolutely worth considering—it’s a hidden gem that delivers on every front.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic—right between two metro stations and within a 10-minute walk of two major shopping centers, making it super easy to explore Xintiandi and Tianzifang. The room was immaculate, with daily cleaning and fresh towels—everything felt spotless. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the interior design was on point: stylish, thoughtful lighting setups let me customize the mood perfectly. The bathroom was a highlight—complete with complimentary bath foam for an extra touch of luxury. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, with generous portions and balanced flavors—no weird or overpowering tastes. I was especially impressed by the dedicated work zone: private little cubicles designed like real offices, with lightning-fast Wi-Fi that allowed me to work comfortably all day or even late into the night. The convenience, comfort, and attention to detail made this stay truly special. Highly recommend for both business and leisure travelers.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! Located in the heart of Lujiazui, this boutique hotel is housed in a beautifully preserved old Shanghai mansion with incredible charm and character. The rooms were spotless, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed—every detail felt intentional and authentic. The staff, especially the concierge, were incredibly attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to make our experience comfortable and memorable. I particularly loved the cozy courtyard on the ground floor—perfect for sipping tea or enjoying a drink with friends in a relaxed, intimate setting. There’s also a quiet book nook and a stylish bar, making it ideal for unwinding after a busy day exploring the city. If I ever return to Shanghai, this will be my top pick. A truly unique and welcoming retreat that delivers on comfort, style, and hospitality. Highly recommended!

My stay at Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Special shoutout to Manager Mandy Wang—her warm and professional service made a real difference. From check-in to checkout, she was attentive, proactive, and genuinely cared about making my experience comfortable. She helped with everything from luggage assistance to local recommendations, and her kindness truly added a personal touch to the trip. The hotel itself is spotless and well-maintained, with a cozy room layout, modern amenities, and incredibly comfortable bedding. I especially appreciated the quiet air conditioning and clean bathrooms. Location-wise, it’s super convenient—just a short walk to the metro station, and it’s easy to reach key areas like Lujiazui and the Bund. Public transport access is seamless, and the airport shuttle options are reliable. With excellent value for money and top-tier hospitality, I’ll definitely be returning next time I visit Shanghai. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and genuine care.

My stay at Central Hotel Shanghai was absolutely exceptional! The front desk staff, especially Miss Jin, went above and beyond with their warm and professional service—attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. The room was immaculate, beautifully clean, and incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night's sleep. I was especially impressed by the breakfast options on the second floor—so many choices, from traditional Chinese dim sum to Western-style breakfasts, all served with great hospitality. The staff were cheerful and attentive throughout. Location-wise, it’s just a short 15-minute subway ride to the city center, making it super convenient for exploring. This hotel offers outstanding value and comfort—definitely a top pick for any traveler visiting Shanghai. I’ll be coming back without hesitation.

The location is absolutely fantastic—just a short walk from the Bund and right across from the iconic Waibaidu Bridge. While not all rooms face the Bund directly, some still offer stunning views, especially at night when the skyline lights up in a dazzling display. The room itself is compact but well-designed, giving a cozy and secure feel despite the size. One minor drawback is the sound insulation—some noise from neighboring rooms or hallway traffic can be heard, particularly late at night. That said, everything else was top-notch. The staff, especially Xiao Wang, Xiao Song, and Xiao Xiao, were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay feel personal and welcoming. I’d definitely come back and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai. A little discount or special package would make it even more appealing, but overall, it’s an excellent choice for both convenience and value.

This stay absolutely exceeded all expectations—10/10 without a doubt! From the moment I arrived, every detail felt thoughtfully planned. Before check-in, I received a personalized message with parking instructions and a weather alert—such a thoughtful touch. The front desk staff greeted me with warm water and processed my check-in in under three minutes—efficient, friendly, and welcoming. The room was immaculate: crisp linens, soft and cozy bedding, blackout curtains, and a quiet air conditioner made for an incredibly restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was smartly separated into dry and wet zones, with strong hot water pressure and thoughtful extras like a universal charging cable and noise-reducing earplugs. When I casually mentioned a sore throat during my stay, a cup of warm pear tea arrived within minutes—such a sweet surprise. Even at checkout, I was handed a small local gift and packing bubble wrap for my luggage. Every aspect—from facilities to service—was flawless. Staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely care about guest comfort. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Shanghai.

Staying at the Fairmont Peace Hotel on the Bund was an unforgettable experience. Though it’s a historic property, the cleanliness and maintenance are impeccable—no musty odors or signs of aging anywhere, from the grand lobby to the room itself. The elegant old-world charm is perfectly preserved, creating a warm yet luxurious atmosphere. My room’s bathroom had clearly been recently renovated, featuring a smart toilet with bidet functions and a showerhead with strong water pressure—perfect for unwinding after a long day. The service exceeded expectations from the very beginning: as I arrived at Dianchi Road, a staff member was already waiting by the door. After confirming I was a guest, he immediately took my luggage and carried it inside, guiding me through check-in with a friendly smile. Despite arriving during peak check-in time around 3 PM, there was no chaos or long lines—everything was smooth and efficient. Even more impressive? My bags never touched my hands again—they were taken straight up in the elevator to my room. That’s what true luxury service looks like. Special shoutout to Guest Experience Manager Billy Liang, who went above and beyond when he learned about my parents’ anniversary visit. He personally delivered a birthday cake, arranged a reservation at the rooftop Longfeng Hall, and even made sure they enjoyed live classic jazz music at the hotel bar. He even snapped a sweet photo for them to cherish. My parents were truly touched and said it was one of the most memorable trips of their lives. This hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a destination worth visiting for family gatherings, special occasions, or simply experiencing timeless elegance. If you’re looking for a perfect blend of heritage, comfort, and exceptional hospitality, this is it.
