Wake up! Sydney Central
Located just steps from Central Station, this hotel offers unbeatable convenience for exploring Sydney. Right across the street is BigBus with red and blue routes that cover most major attractions—grab a 48-hour pass and you can visit so many iconic spots in just two days. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. One small note: the central air conditioning runs quite cold, so bringing a light blanket is a good idea. Overall, it’s a fantastic value for the location and quality—highly recommend for travelers who want to make the most of their time in Sydney.

We ended up extending our stay by one extra night due to a last-minute flight change, and I'm so glad we did. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and allowed us to keep our original room on the first floor—perfect for managing our luggage. The hotel’s location is fantastic; it's just a short train ride away from the Sydney Opera House, making it super convenient for cultural outings. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, the service, convenience, and value made this stay truly memorable. Definitely recommend for travelers looking for a peaceful yet central base in Sydney.
Sydney Park Hotel
Stayed at Sydney Park Hotel for two weekend visits in March 2024 while traveling to friends in the Blue Mountains, recommended by some locals who used to live in Sydney. Check-in was smooth and welcoming—staff seemed to know exactly why we were there (maybe it was the big suitcases?). We booked a King room for extra space, and loved the generous closet area and room for luggage. Over two stays, we were assigned different but similarly sized rooms—Room 3, a corner unit facing King Street/Logan Lane, and Room 4, which overlooked St Peters train station. Room 3 had great cross breezes when all three windows were open, though it did face a busy intersection with more street noise. Room 4 was just as spacious and slightly quieter, with a view of the train line. Both rooms offered a real sense of being in the heart of the city—traffic hum and train rumble clearly audible when windows were open. Thankfully, earplugs were provided in both rooms, which helped us sleep well despite the urban buzz. If you're very noise-sensitive, another hotel might be better suited. But for us, it wasn’t an issue. Transport couldn’t be easier—St Peters Station is literally across Lord Street, just a few meters from the entrance. For two people coming from SYD Airport, an Uber ($22 total) was actually cheaper than taking the train ($19 each). And bonus: direct bookings come with a nice discount, which is common now with independently operated hotels worldwide. Definitely worth contacting them directly via email or phone to beat any online rate. Overall, a solid choice for convenience, comfort, and value.

Staying here was a great choice for my postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney. The campus itself is stunning—peaceful, green, and full of inspiring spaces perfect for studying. The lecturers are knowledgeable and passionate, which really helps with absorbing the material. I appreciated how close the hostel is to campus—just a short walk or quick transit ride away. It’s convenient, safe, and well-maintained, with clean rooms and reliable Wi-Fi. There are also plenty of nearby cafes and convenience stores, making it easy to grab a coffee or snack between classes. Overall, it’s an ideal spot for students who want both comfort and academic focus. Highly recommend this place if you’re planning to study in Sydney.

Traveled solo and stayed in a private room with an en-suite bathroom for around $150—simple but spotless. The quirky koala mural on the wall is definitely a conversation starter (kinda spooky, but in a fun way!). I've been coming back to this place several times over the past 35 years, and it still holds that same charm. It’s perfectly located—just a short walk from the train station and right in the heart of the city. Staying here feels like part of the adventure itself. A timeless gem with unbeatable value. Highly recommend!
MAD Monkey Broadway
Staying at MAD Monkey Broadway was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hostel has a warm, cozy vibe with super friendly staff who made me feel right at home. I loved the fully equipped kitchen—perfect for whipping up meals without breaking the bank—and the lounge area with a PS5 was a total bonus for some chill gaming after a long day. It’s also a great spot if you’re working remotely; there’s plenty of quiet corners and reliable Wi-Fi. My room was spacious and well-maintained, with a clean, modern en-suite bathroom that added to the comfort. Located right in the heart of Sydney, it’s just steps away from public transport and all the city’s best spots. A standout experience with excellent value—definitely coming back.

I even squeezed in a casual tennis game on Sunday, thanks to how central the hotel is. Even though I’m working from home today (wfh), the peaceful vibe of the place makes it feel like a little retreat. Staying one night was definitely okay, and the location made it a great choice—just a short metro ride into the city center, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The room was small but clean and well-maintained, with all the essentials you'd expect for a budget-friendly stay. It's perfect if you're looking to explore Sydney without spending much. That said, I was surprised they only allow one-night stays and don’t accept guests outside the 18–40 age range. While I understand it’s aimed at younger travelers, this restriction felt a bit strict, especially for older solo travelers or families. Still, if you’re in your late teens to early forties and want a no-frills, social vibe with good access to the city, this place is worth checking out.
Meriton Suites Coward Street
Staying here was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from Mascot Station and multiple bus stops, making it super easy to explore Sydney or head to the airport. My room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with modern touches throughout. I loved the king-sized bed—it was incredibly comfortable, and the rain shower in the bathroom was a real treat after a long day. The staff at the front desk were genuinely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. It’s clear they take pride in their service. For a seamless, convenient, and relaxing stay in Sydney, this place really delivers. Highly recommend!
Ibis Budget St Peters
I chose a ground-floor room because I wanted air conditioning, but the space was quite compact and the view from the curtains just showed the parking lot—definitely not ideal. This is the first Ibis Budget property I’ve stayed at where the experience felt underwhelming. The toilet didn’t have a lid, the shower area lacked proper ventilation so it stayed damp after use, and water pressure was extremely low—taking a shower felt like waiting for a trickle. Also, the bathroom faucet made an annoying high-pitched noise as soon as it was turned on. While the location is convenient for public transport, these issues really dragged down the overall value. It’s disappointing for a brand that usually offers solid basics. Not something I’d book again without significant improvements.

I was in need of a last-minute place to stay for the night, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my choice.
