I stayed here for an extended period and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff went above and beyond—always friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They made me feel right at home, which is rare for a long-term stay. The only minor downside was limited parking on the side of the building where my room was located, but it wasn’t a big issue given how close the hotel is to the university area. Overall, the value for money is excellent, especially with such outstanding customer service. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a warm atmosphere.

Motel 9 University-Downtown offers a fantastic location in the heart of Austin, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Just a short walk from downtown attractions and public transit options, I found it easy to get around without needing a car. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and the room was cozy with everything I needed—comfortable bed, good lighting, and reliable Wi-Fi. Staff were friendly and efficient during check-in. It's a great choice if you're looking for a budget-friendly yet comfortable stay close to the action. Perfect for students or travelers who value location and value over luxury.
Scottish Inns Austin Downtown
Our stay at Scottish Inns Austin Downtown was disappointing, to say the least. We were shocked to find numerous baby roaches in the bathroom—definitely not what you expect from a hotel. The sink had major drainage issues; as soon as we turned on the water, it started flooding within seconds. The bathtub floor was cracked in several places, and the shower curtain rod was half broken, making it impossible to keep the curtain closed. Water constantly spilled onto the floor, creating a slippery mess. The sheets and blankets were in terrible condition—covered in small burn marks and tears, clearly showing years of neglect. There were also multiple poorly patched areas on the walls, indicating past damage that was never properly repaired. Overall, the room felt extremely run-down. It was only barely worth the low rate we paid. If we’d known about the condition beforehand, we definitely would’ve chosen a different place. For travelers looking for cleanliness and comfort, this property isn’t recommended.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Austin Central
The staff went above and beyond with their friendly and welcoming attitude—truly made the experience special. The hotel was spotless, well-maintained, and had a great flow throughout. I especially loved the happy hour—it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Clean rooms, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere make this place stand out. If I could rate it higher than 10, I definitely would. A must-stay for anyone visiting Austin!

Staying at this hotel was a breeze—perfectly quiet yet still just a 20-minute drive from all the downtown action. The location offers a nice balance: peaceful surroundings with plenty of nearby options for dining and exploring, without feeling too far from the city’s pulse. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. It’s an ideal choice if you’re looking for a relaxed getaway with easy access to everything Austin has to offer. Definitely worth returning to.

This is my second visit to this hotel, and I’m just as impressed as the first time. The staff are genuinely warm and always ready to help with anything—from recommendations to check-in assistance. The property has a wonderfully intimate feel, beautifully decorated with elegant touches throughout. It’s not located right in the heart of downtown Austin, which makes it perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat away from the noise and crowds. That said, there’s often live music on certain evenings—depending on the schedule—which adds a lovely local vibe. Everything about this place feels refined and thoughtfully curated. If you value quiet luxury and authentic charm, this is definitely the spot. A truly memorable stay.

The stay was excellent overall, with a great location just minutes from the university and downtown Austin. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the refrigerator wasn’t working, which was a bit inconvenient. That said, it didn’t ruin the experience, and I’d still recommend this hotel for its value and convenient access to local attractions.

This hotel is incredibly convenient and practical for my weekend visits to see my daughter, who studies at UT Austin. Just an 8-minute drive from campus via I-35 South—super easy and fast. The room is comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, making it the perfect base for short stays. Great location, friendly staff, and excellent value. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
